What's with all of these guys in the NFL and college wearing jerseys that barely even reach their waist, mucg less being tucked in? It's even reached the high school level. Look at these pictures from my high school. It's looks absolutely stupid. Some people couldn't care less how they look on the field. I simply cannot stand this look. Maybe it's just me, hopefully it's not.

(By the way, the helmet logo is a ripoff of Western Carolina, our coach graduated from there)

I guess your weren't around during the late 80's early 90's when everyone wanted to show off their 6 packs? I actually wondered where the belly jerseys went during the mid to late 90's. The ones i remember would have been cut off directly below where the 56 is on the one guys jersey. I guess the fad is comming back.

I was born in 86 but I remember the jerseys like that. I was just hoping they were one of those bad fashion trends from the late 80s and early 90s.

Glad to see you're using myspace for it's original intended purpose. Whoever the tool was that started using myspace as their 21st century AOL profile should be dragged behind the woodshed and be given a beatdown.

Yea, I started that this summer. I've been way too busy to do as much as I'd like with it though.

First, what team is that??

Second, that ain't happening in the NFL, their uniform rules are so nitpicky it's ridiculous. They can get fined $5k for having the wrong socks on. If there are pics to disprove me, then post them please.

That's my high school team, West Stokes High School in King, North Carolina.

I'm almost sure that the rulebook states that the belt has to be fastened but we still get events like this[/url.

As an example of the jerseys getting shorter in the NFL, check out [url=http://static.flickr.com/88/264942879_7faa995763_o.jpg]this (http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/uploads/photos/perm/main/DGKOKIKMJIFJ/PHI_DAL_0303_DH.jpg) picture and look at where the jersey tag is. Those are generally on the bottom of a jersey.

Look how short (http://images.nfl.com/u/photos/pl_681192.jpg) Urlacher's jersey is.

Here are two (http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/uploads/photos/perm/main/LFLMMINFAIGN/DAL_vs_PHI_1377_.jpg) more (http://www.philadelphiaeagles.com/uploads/photos/perm/main/EEELFOJOJHGN/PHI_GB_1255_DH.JPG) pictures of the Eagles.

This (http://images.nfl.com/u/photos/pl_681020.jpg) definitely isn't tucked in.

Neither is this (http://images.nfl.com/u/photos/pl_692634.jpg).

Or this (http://images.nfl.com/u/photos/pl_680415.jpg).

And this (http://images.nfl.com/u/photos/pl_680756.jpg) one even has elastic at the bottom of the jersey.

Just a few examples. The rule might say one thing, but the players are definitely doing something else.

I am ok with it as long as the shorty shorts don't come back for basketball:eek:

SuperJon,

Well I'll eat my words you proved me completely wrong with those pics!! LOL

Hmm, I guess I really never noticed NFL players wearing them. Interesting.

And thanks for the pics of the Eagles, that's my team!

Hold up! Are you seriously complaining about guys with their shirts untucked? By the looks of those jerseys you cant help but have them untucked. High school kids don't choose what size their jerseys are, they pick a number.

Back in the day, we had mesh jerseys that cut off at the waist. You obviously don't remember the early to mid 90's...

They were much cooler and not a pain in the arse to tuck in.

Either get over it, or watch soccer.

By the way, my high school has three jerseys and only have like 30 kids on the team. They have plenty of extras.

They don't have every number. In HS, I played and coached on teams that only at 30 players at best. I had to wear a L jersey because I wanted #71.

The famous "Mid-Riff" or "Shrunk-Short" jersey goes farther back than that. Warmer-weather teams like Alabama, Miami, Arizona State Tennessee and Texas started using them in the mid-1970's and everybody, even cold-weather teams, used them for awhile. Notre Dame, Air Force and Pitt began using them in the early 1980's and kept them through most of the decade. Colgate even did it (1978-80) but quietly abandoned the idea.
