This discussion thread was fit for the purpose of the following great sporting events and sports moments below.

2014 Winter Olympics: for those who missed out, check out the video (http://www.sportshoopla.com/forums/#) of the ceremonies.....

this article below really got me into tears and so on......... read below......
Walking Dead wins Sunday ratings battle over Olympic Closing Ceremony (http://deadline.com/2014/02/walking-dead-tv-ratings-beat-olympics-closing-ceremony-amc-nbc-688280/)
I'll never ever watch Walking Dead after reading the article.

2014 World Cup: there were bars and movie theaters (http://www.sportshoopla.com/forums/#) that had world cup viewing parties all over this country. like if it was super sunday every time Team USA played. it help increased America's obsession with soccer.
anyways heres the biggest heartbreaking moment of the cup was..............
http://www.businessinsider.com/brazil-germany-score-2014-7
it was like the Cubs losing the 2003 NLCS. i considered Brazil's defeat in their home nation as the all time biggest heartbroken sports moment ever.

Donald Sterling banned by the NBA:

Sterling's history of bigotry

Michael Sam comes out of the closet before being drafted by the Rams:
http://espn.go.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/10429030/michael-sam-missouri-tigers-says-gay
Sam was cut by the rams before the season started. sign with the cowboys, stayed with the practice till he was released. where next? if the NFL wont work (http://www.sportshoopla.com/forums/#), theres always the CFL and Arena league (http://www.sportshoopla.com/forums/#). i say hes has to play at least one regular season game, no matter what league.

Roger Goddell punishes Ray Rice, a bit too late:
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/eye-on-football/24701282/ray-rice-suspended-indefinitely-by-roger-goodell
plus more
Adrian Peterson suspended for rest of the season (http://mmqb.si.com/2014/11/18/adrian-peterson-suspension-appeal-roger-goodell/)
Rice was reinstated recently. Goodell should do better as a commish. i appreciate him making the game safer for players and his expanding regular season games to other countries, but when it comes to off field domestic violence committed by players, he should take action, right away.

NASCAR's fight of the year:
http://www.nascar.com/en_us/news-media/articles/2014/11/2/jeff-gordon-brad-keselowski-fight-kevin-harvick-texas-chase-for-the-nascar-sprint-cup.html
the france family better make new rules that prevent something like that from happening again.

Tony Stewart accused of an on-track tragic incident:
