Our record is 27,500 against USL (now Louisiana Lafayette) in 1976. The rest of the top nine are in between that and 20,000 and occurred in the late 70's and early 80's. Our stadium's capacity is only 17,400 but is built around a hole in the ground (thus the nickname "The Hole") and there are grass embankemts around behind the endzones that can hold more fans thus allowing crowds in greater numbers than the official capacity of the stadium.
The last 20,000+ crowds have been agaisnt Grambling in 2002, Youngstown in 1995, and Troy State in 1993.

Our record is VS Delaware in 2005 10,877.
Could be in for a challenge this weekend, depending on weather and if the students decide to leave the parking lot.

The old seats on the west side were removed after the 2004 season and the new ones were not completed yet. The stadium capacity this year is about 6500. They had about 800 of the new seats open for the SDSU game.

The largest crowd ever at Yale Bowl was 80,000 for the 1932 Yale/Army game.
The Bowl has held crowds of over 70,000 on 20 occasions, the most recent for the '83 Yale/Harvard Game. Since then, I'd say there's been close to a dozen crowds of 50,000+, most recently in 2005 for the Yale/Harvard game (53,213).

Liberty's Williams Stadium seats 12k, we set a record at homecoming this year with 15,631 in attendance.
avg about 11k this season, and I believe a few of those may be top-10 figures for us.

Has UNI ever held more people than it has seats? Or since it is domed is it against fire code to have more?
I know we have had sellouts of 16,324 many times, but I don't think we have actually ever reported more than that...
