I got my popcorn ready for Saturday (to watch the EKU/ISU game on ESPN3).

Can't wait to see one of them in Chattanooga!

The town is seriously buzzing about the Mocs being in the playoffs, it will be interesting to see what the attendance will be.

I could see it going either way in a hard fought battle. I could see Chattanooga slowly but surely overpowering the Trees. I don't see the Trees running away with it. If I were putting money on the game, I'd put it on Chattanooga straight up.

EKU lost their QB against Florida. I would favor them, but with their backup QB in, I have no idea. Trees are one dimensional...EKU probably has a better defense...MUCH better run game.

I like EKU because I follow the OVC the most of any FCS conference outside of the SoCon and more fans would "know" EKU in Chattanooga than ISU.

...but I also like the idea of playing ISU because it would be an interesting story line that both schools last went to the playoffs in the 1984.

...and, the Mocs have already played 3 OVC schools this year already, so a little conference diversity in the schedule might be nice.

Jared McClain has been the starting QB since last year. This year we played two QB's until we stumped our toe big time at Tenn Tech. After TTU game, MCClain played the majority of minutes. Our corners are pretty small but thankfully we get our senior safety back after missing last week with a concussion. Both WR's and TE are all tall but are not used correctly! The OC in my mind does not utilize there height advantage. EKU is run first anyway. I'm pumped!

No circumstances worth pointing to and no excuses. Terrible loss to a bad Tech team. Hoping that game was an anomaly and not indicative of what this EKU team is.

It better not. If it does, it's time for serious consideration on what's going on in the press box and on the sideline. And I am not talking about those wearing helmets and shoulder pads. The TTU games was a total train wreck. Could not believe what I was watching!
I don't think EKU has put together a total game yet. Hopefully this Saturday things will change and all cylinders will fire!

With no students in town and the damn red-blue (louisville v kentucky) game kicking off at noon tomorrow on ESPN2, I doubt we see more than 4000 - 4500 in the stands and I'm probably being optimistic. I'm already watching the clock and ready for some football. Unfortunately damn near everyone else in this state will be more interested in the other game.

Nice statement win for the MVFC yesterday! But I temper that statement remembering how a lack luster JMU team went down there and beat E Kentucky in a first round game about 3 years ago or so..... Nice win, Yes Sir. Impressive? Not just yet considering the weak OVC conference

Yes, we outbid trees and we outbid the Dukes last time in. Crowds were terrible for both. JMU learned from the last one and hosted yesterday. I expect ISU will likely bid stronger next time in too. From what I saw yesterday, ISU has things going in the right direction and will be back in again. Next time we may be travelling to play there but it won't be due to the fact that EKU did not put in a strong bid.

Say what you will about the attendance but the university stepped up to get a home game for this team. That speaks to commitment from the school and the administration in the face of what is nearly an impossible fight for fans with UK and Louisville. The only thing that anyone cares about in central Kentucky is the big blue. We lost plenty of EKU alumni yesterday to that game. It hits attendance in both football and basketball and it hits donations as well. I'd put our blue shadow problem up against any other FCS attendance challenge out there. Those of us that go to Rupp wearing EKU maroon for the upcoming basketball game will be asked over and over why we are EKU fans and not UK fans. It won't be UK alumni asking the question, in some cases it may be EKU alumni. If you live in the Commonwealth of Kentucky you are expected to be a UK fan. Doesn't matter where you went to school.

Congrats to ISU yesterday for weathering the first 25 minutes of that game as you have the last 30 years. Welcome back to the playoff party and congrats on great win for the program.

I sat first row upstairs on the 50 yesterday as I have for every home playoff game EKU has ever hosted. I'll be sitting there for the season opener next year and hope to be in that same seat on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, because if EKU earns a spot in the field we will bid to host. Even if only 2500 are going to show up.

Agree with all you said Toss. The pUKe problem is unlike anything anyone has seem, IMO. It just sucks. I could tell you stories about big blew fans that would set you on your heels, but that's not what this forum us for. But here is aside note, I have a friend who is a Louisville fan. At the UL-Notre Dame game last week, there were pUKe fans there dressed head to toe UK garb. I saw several photos. Not only that when UL did their. CARDS cheer these idiots countered back with CATS. Now tell me who goes to a game that has nothing, absolutely zero, to do with them and does that?It's ridiculous and that's the kind of idiots we deal with in central KY (and for that matter the entire state) everyday
That said. EKU has issues to address. First the facilities and that is happening as we speak. Two, getting students engaged, a tough job , but if this President can't do it, it cant't be done. Three, take a very serious look at the coaching staff. Maybe? Hood is okay but he has some some problems the with his assistants. Have not seen adjustments made at half time this season, while the other team makes them, we just do the same thing and hope it works. And Coney looked lost at times yesterday, (offensive coordinator job to get him ready?), we missed out starting QB for sure, but may not have made any difference.

I'm curious what our crowd could have been but if we bid the same amount as EKU I think EKU would have got it. I've heard they take facilities and regular season attendance into consideration. I'm guessing 5,000 would have been a stretch yesterday if we were home. You may have seen the whole crowd we would have had at your place.

for us I could see UK, Louisville, ball St and Cincinnati also being a competitor. Those are what I would call actual competitors. I guess there are Michigan fans but Ive never heard of an Illinois or Northwestern fan in Indiana. There's probably some Ohio State fanboys too

Not wanting to get into a "mine's bigger than yours" discussion, but I'm not drawing any 5 or 6 hour radius around Richmond. I only mentioned Louisville because they lined up opposite from UK on the field Saturday. I'll draw a 30 mile circle around Richmond and with that have hit a problem that I would put up against anybody out there. UK has some of the best, most loyal and some might say dumbest fans in the country. Hope springs eternal when it comes to UK football even as a perennial SEC door mat. To most in the Commonwealth there are only 2 teams in the state. The UK basketball team and the UK football team. Basketball season runs 8+ months and football fills the rest.

It was long ago, but even when EKU went 13-0 to win the 1982 National Championship we couldn't pull from UK. The cats went 0-10-1 that year and never came close to anyone, but they played in front of a full stadium.

I think all of us that don't call Montana or the Dakota's home have our challenges in filling seats, but I'll put ours against any out there.

How I wish UK was 5.5 hours from Richmond/EKU instead of 20 minutes! It's 2 1/2 hour drive from Lexington to Bowling Green/WKU. And while WKU has their alumni and BG residents who are UK fans also, most aren't jumping in the car to sit in the parking lot with no ticket just to tailgate and proclaim their undying love for the ka-yats. It's just too easy to join the crowd and jump on the bandwagon. I will go to work tomorrow and have to listen to UK propaganda and see photos of their semi pro basketball team on iPhones that i could care less about, and they know it, and they don't care. Bore the cr*p out of me and everyone else who isn't a slobbering big blew fan. They have no idea what's going on in the big world out there, just as long as the ka- yats are winning and they can talk about it, all's right with the world.
