Villanova @ Delaware - I think it's not as bad as the last meeting in Newark, but the gap in teams is too big
Elon @ James Madison - Rough first CAA season ends for Phoenix, hope for a better showing in 2015
Towson @ Rhode Island - Rhody wants a win, so why not pick them here
Stony Brook @ Albany - Seawolves record hurt by OOC games, seem to be better team
New Hampshire @ Maine - Wildcats want to make one road to Frisco go through the Dungeon
Richmond @ William & Mary - Richmond's slide continues, similar to how Hens ended '13

Last game in Newark was quite competitive....it was 20-10 with the Hens in the Red Zone....Then Hurley got picked off in the end zone and the Cats scored 21 unanswered off 3 INT (2 pick 6) in 6 minutes.

I seemed to remember it being worse, since I was on the field with the podium for the 3 picks (and for the rain of boo's for potential lunch with KC)

Villanova 35, Delaware 24 - Because it is rivalry and Senior Day in Newark this one will be close for a while, but Villanova will eventually win by a somewhat comfortable margin.
James Madison 35, Elon 14 - JMU is rolling right now, and even though this game is hard to get up for I still think they win handily here.
Rhode Island 17, Towson 14 - I hate to do this, but with the way the Towson offense is playing, the fact that they will be completely unmotivated for this game and with Rhode Island being at home I think there is a good chance Towson loses this.
Stony Brook 17, Albany 14 - Stony Brook's defense helps them grind this one out on the road.
New Hampshire 31, Maine 24 - Maine keeps it close, but New Hampshire will win this one comfortably.
William & Mary 27, Richmond 23 - I don't like the way Richmond is playing lately, and I think William & Mary will win with the home edge.

Being the end of the season, I will put some season-ending thoughts with the scores, though admittedly have really sucked on the picks for the most part.

Villanova 27 Delaware 17
i believe the Hens will compete and make this a game though the talent on the Nova side will win the day. You have to admire Coach Talley, always has a pretty solid team. Believe Nova moves on to a fairly high seed though will bow out in the playoffs earlier than expected. Good, not great. They need better support but for some reason, Villanova has never had great fan support which is why the program was shut down once already in the 80s. Good school and they deserve a stronger fan base. For Delaware, definitely a step slow though you still see talent and expect more. Maybe it's the helmets. I know their fans are quite down but get over it - if you think the world is ending because you finished 6-6, the problem isn't the program, it's your expectations. You are spoiled. You have a great program and tradition, that's not going away. The Hens are my favorite non-Tribe team and expect they will be pushing everyone else around again fairly soon.

JMU 41 Elon 7
By all rights and everything decent in this world, Elon should flat out win with the upset and send JMU down in the flames of arrogance. JMU fans have been unnecessarily dismissive about Elon, an excellent school that I would bet within 5 years will be ahead of JMU altogether (already passed them on the academic reputation meter). JMU adds a ton of excitement to CAA football and their resurgence has been fun to watch. I think they are gelling and will be a very tough out in the playoffs. Elon will regroup and will steadily improve in the league.

URI 17 Towson 13
Possibly exhibit A on why I suck at picks. URI hasn't shown any signs to me of throwing in the towel, Towson has. Therefore, URI will win this one and breathe a tiny breath of optimism into being competitive into 2015.

SBU 20 UAlbany 16
The new guys. I like them already more than I thought I would. They are great additions.
I pick SBU only because I like defense more than offense as a winning strategy - and really admire a coach/ program that wins that way. With all the offenses and scores going crazy these days in college football, it's nice to see someone who week-in, week-out, wins games 14-3.

UNH 34 Maine 10
Maine already had their upset for the year.
UNH is just admirable in their consistency and I think they have now established a firm tradition as one the real premier FCS programs. Exciting for the CAA and for their growing number of fans. Their defense appears better to me this year but I think their overall weaker schedule will hurt their progress deep into the playoffs.

Tribe 27 Richmond 21
Very even game though I think the Tribe will have more emotion in the game and have just enough grit to actually hold the win unlike losing it in the last minute as they did against Villanova and JMU. If W&M does win and gets into the playoff field, I think they could be very dangerous. The talent on defense is top notch and Cluley, despite stats, is becoming a warrior at QB.

Really enjoyed the season. Great league.

i'm actually very surprised that 100% of the posters in this thread have picked Nova. i do think Nova will win, but i would not be stunned to see Delaware win.

i do think Nova has something to play for, though: Robertson winning the WP Award. if they lose, i don't believe he wins the award unless he puts up astronomical stats. i'm sure they want to win it for him. besides that, i'm not sure if Nova is seeded at 9-3. they could be, but it wouldn't be a slam dunk.

Are we all talking about the same Elon? My dog got his bachelor's there.

A statement questioning the overall merit of Elon's athletics and academics may certainly be worth some discussion due to the fact that Elon has progressed so much in such a short period of time. However, the insulting nature of your post leads one to discern that you are as ignorant and arrogant, (without cause), as you are stupid and therefore, further discussion would be a waste of time.

I've seen it, up close and personal, and Elon's so-called "improvement" is almost entirely based on smoke and mirrors.
