The weather wasn't terrible. He looked off even taking the weather into account IMO. I can't fault him too much for just one game though. I didn't realize he only has 2 INTs all year. That's very impressive.

He may have been off regardless, but the wind was 16-18 mph according to the stat book and from watching on TV, may have been gusting beyond that. A 16-18 mph wind can definitely affect a passing game, especially for smaller QBs who may have smaller hands and don't have a big arm. If the passing game doesn't have to be respected, defenses can adjust to shut down the run. Throw in some moisture - even a light mist - and it can make for a tough day offensively. If I were a Payton voter, I wouldn't totally throw this game out, but wouldn't let it factor too much in my decision.

I think you can argue it. I wanted to see what JMU does this week but he is one of three or four players who I am going to add if they have a big game this wek. Lee is certainly going to be on my preseason list next year. I would have had him on if he had done a little better earlier and was over 60% completion. Like I said, I expect to have him on the preseason list next year if he keeps up his recent play.

If Harold can put up another big game close to this past weekend he will be in the top 5 on my list as well.

Did I miss Samford S Jaquiski Tartt on that list somewhere? Unfortunately, our bad schedule has given us 4 games( 2 of which were sub-FCS) that we won by scores of 52-0, 63-21, 45-0, and 55-0. You don't expect a talent like Tartt to play a whole game in these cases. Stats don't always tell the whole story. Tartt only has 50 total tackles, due largely because of this circumstance. Against TCU alone, however, he had 11 total. I don't know if he will be considered for anything because of the apparent drop off, but I do know that NFL scouts are at Samford practices and games drooling over him. The talk is that he will possibly be a mid-round pick.

He certainly deserves to be in the conversation. If he wins afew more "John Robertson Player of the Week Awards" or John tanks down the home stretch he will be a a fairly close 2nd. I can't think of anyone else in the CAA who would deserve it more. [Disclaimer: From the teams I've watched] I'd say 1-JR 2-VL 3-McBride from W&M just for the beating he put on our secondary

He has not played as well as I thought he would. He was on the list earlier in the year but I dropped him. I was thinking mid rounds on him at one point (3rd-4th) but now I'm thinking 5th-6th round. He has been hurt last year and some this year as well. No doubt he will go to the combine. People are staying away from him a good bit as well so he isn't putting up the stats you need to be up for the Buchanan Award.

No doubt he should be on All-America teams though. Draft status is just a small part of what I consider on this. Players have to play well. There are guys on my Payton and Buchanan list who I don't think will ever make it past first cut with a NFL team, and some who will not get a shot. Then there are guys who I project to go in the 5th-7th round who aren't on these lists.

As for your note on Emanuel and Cherry. Have seen both play about 4 times this year. Emanuel is the better player, in my opinion. Cherry is great and should be a 1st or 2nd team All-American this year but I have to go with Emanuel. Remember that they are blowing everyone out and he isn't playing full games all the time. You could but I think Emanuel is the better player right now. I'm not saying Cherry isn't great. I'm just ranking Emanuel slightly above Cherry among the very best in the nation.
