1:00 PM Charleston Southern (http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/2127/charleston-southern-buccaneers) @ Monmouth (http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/2405/monmouth-hawks) Both teams are coming off losses. Monmouth lost to Presbyterian and CSU was topped by Coastal for their 2nd loss in a row. Both teams will be looking to rebound and gain some momentum. Monmouth will look to stay alive in the conference race.

2:00 PM Liberty (http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/2335/liberty-flames) @ Presbyterian (http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/2506/presbyterian-blue-hose) Liberty’s defense played lights out vs Gardner Webb, giving up only 56 total yards and sacking Lucas Beatty 5 times. The Flames Offense was very efficient and powerful as well. Presby picked up yet another big win, knocking off Monmouth 18-12. They continue to hang their hats on their defense in their wins, with their offense just putting up enough to win. Should be interesting to see if Presby can limit LU’s offense that really seems to be clicking, and if they can score against what appears to be a revived Liberty defense.

3:30 PM Coastal Carolina (http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/324/coastal-carolina-chanticleers) @ Gardner-Webb (http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/2241/gardner-webb-runnin'-bulldogs) Coastal continues to roll after a 21 point win vs CSU and will likely move up in the polls today. Gardner Webb will try to rebound from their loss at Liberty with a home game. It will be a tall order for them to both contain CCU’s potent offense and try to keep Beatty upright.

If anyone wants to add anything, please do. Just basic previews. Then pick at your leisure.

CSU losing to us was their third loss in a row - Vandy, Presby, then us.

True that. I was speaking of conference but didn't make it clear. Thanks.

Chuck South vs. Monmouth- CSU is the better team. I think they come out inspired after a tough loss to coastal this past week.
Liberty vs. Presby- Time for LU to put up or shut up. Presby has been a thorn in the Flames side a few times in the past decade and this is a classic trap game. LU wins by a TD.
Coastal vs. G-Dubb- Coastal is just too good to let this be a trap game for them. Coastal hangs 45 on the webb as the offensive woes for the Runnin Dawgs continue.

This could be a trap week for the Big South.
What you might think would be victories for CSU, LU, and CCU, but they all are playing on the road.
CSU has the longest trip, LU has been upended at Clinton before, and CCU got beat by GW on the road a few years ago.

With that being said, I am going with CSU, LU and CCU

Charleston Southern @ Monmouth -- I want to see the new guys do okay. I think this will be a close game, and I think playing at home will push Monmouth to the win.

Liberty @ Presbyterian -- I want to see a good game here, but I think Liberty's offense is going to be too much. I am starting to drink the Presbyterian Kool-Aid though. This is the interesting game of the week imo. I hope I can find it online.

Coastal Carolina @ Gardner-Webb -- GW has been bitten by too many injuries. Also, CCU has stopped playing down to their opponents since Moglia replaced Bennett.

For Presby/LU - LU's RB D.J. Abnar (Foot) and PC's RB DeMarcus Rouse (Shoulder) both listed as Questionable at this point.

First line (means little) has LU as an 11 point favorite.

I think CSU is tired of losing, and is ready to pile it on Monmouth, so predicting CSU 35-14
First real test for Presby to prove they are for real, but believe Liberty is just too strong. LU 42-28
Coastal coming off a convincing win, and prime for a let down...but I don't see it this week. CCU 48-14

Charleston Southern (http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/2127/charleston-southern-buccaneers) @ Monmouth (http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/2405/monmouth-hawks) Still think Monmouth's early success was due to weaker competition and CSU is due. 28-21 CSU

Liberty (http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/2335/liberty-flames) @ Presbyterian (http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/2506/presbyterian-blue-hose) I just think LU's offense will be too much for Presby to hold down too low and LU's Defense should be able to limit PC enough for a W. 38-21 LU

Coastal Carolina (http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/324/coastal-carolina-chanticleers) @ Gardner-Webb (http://espn.go.com/college-football/team/_/id/2241/gardner-webb-runnin'-bulldogs) Sorry, GW, potential trap or not, it just isn't going to happen. 37-13 CCU

I'm a PC fan, but I think with our w/ some injuries on the defense that Liberty will pose a big threat on offense that will be to big to over come. If you held G-W to 60 some yards, I'm afraid we won't be able to move the ball that will either. I think liberty comes out on top 28-7. I hope our offense and defense prove me wrong, but we've counted on our defense so much this year, I worry that it might all come crashing down this weekend. We gained a lot of yards last week, and scored 18 points, but we still kill ourselves with penalties and giving opposing teams short fields to work with.

Charleston Southern @ Monmouth
Liberty @ Presbyterian
Coastal Carolina @ Gardner-Webb

Charleston Southern is in a major tailspin right now. Monmouth will want to make a statement following the loss to Presbyterian last week. Add to that the fact that the Hawks are at home, it means the Buc swoon continues another week

As the old saying goes, "he who lives by the sword, dies by the sword". For Presbyterian, that sword has been the defense. In their 4 wins, they have allowed 14,, 7, 14, 3 and 12 points. In their 3 losses (NIU, CCU and NC State), they have alllowed 55, 42 and 40 points. Liberty knows that PC killed their playoff hopes in Clinton once before (2008) and they will want to make a statement and keep the momentum heading into a key three game stretch to close the season in November. Flames get off to another fast start and cruise too a win 34-17

Coastal wants to keep on a roll toward a season ending championship showdown with Liberty on the Grand Strand and I think they bring the Runnin Bulldogs to a slow crawl this week

Is Liberty really relying on "past chances" to fuel a win in Clinton? That happened 6 years ago, and is anyone apart of the program that was there in '08. I mean I know it won't be classified as a "revenge game", but I think the 2008 game may be played up a little to much. However, I'm guessing that '08 liberty team had to have been one of the best in recent years if the team still hangs on it. Not dogging you BJ, but just didnt know if the '08 thing was still a "fan" thing or does anyone besides the fans still talk about it.

Im sure the players have talked about it, but I would reckon its more something that has stuck in the craw of just about every Liberty fan since that game. My guess is the players (at least outside the freshmen) know that Liberty has dominated in the series outside that game, including blowing the Blue Hose out of Bailey Memorial in 2012 (Josh went for 232 and a TD in that game). The seniors on the roster would have been I believe sophomores in high school when that game took place if my math is correct.

CCU got beat by GW on the road a few years ago.

We've actually never lost to GWU on the road. We are 9-2 against them all-time, both losses were in Conway.

Liberty fans remember the '08 debacle but there are exactly 0 current players that remember it. I really doubt that it's a topic of conversation this week. Other than on messageboards, obviously.

As a program, CSU needs to win this week at Monmouth. Their momentum from the first half of the season has completely stalled. With a roster so young, they need a win now to keep from going backward and turning November into nothing more than a long walk to Thanksgiving break. As a program, Monmouth needs to with this week against CSU. It's their first home conference game in the Big South and they need to prove they belong.

That's what i figured, and have no problems w/ it being message board talk. This is a huge game for PC and the perception of the program. We've had some great wins this year, and beating Liberty would be cherry on the top.

Also; I think CCU and CSU both win on Saturday.

If my count is off, I'm sure someone will let me know:

CSU - 6 picks @ Monmouth - 2 picks

Liberty - 8 picks @ Presby - 0 picks

Coastal - 8 picks @ G-Webb - 0 picks

I still have hopes that Presby is the real deal and can knock off Liberty. The Woodrum to Peterson combination just looks too powerful, so I can't find it in me to change my pick.

I think the LU game will be close, and lower scoring that the predictions I've seen. Granted CCU didn't have 3 starters in on D when we played them, but Presby is a decent team. I'm curious to see if they can keep the momentum going with recruiting in the off-season and into next year.

Woodrum to Peterson is a huge combo for sure, but when defenses started keying on Peterson, now Dante Shells is heating up. He's had 2 100+ games in a row.

Absolutely. Most teams can shut anyone down if they are willing to let the rest of the team beat them.

I think the Rouse injury watch will play a part I'm sure. PC has very little offense and any losses will be magnified

Best i could tell there was man on the outside and zone in the middle. both QBs had their way with the defensive backfields though...and DJ Abnar had the hit of the year on a run in the second half

Yea, Man on the outside and a soft zone in the middle. Considering the stats, we had whatever we needed (as did they in that game).
