Nah, not going to happen but I think UA has to go up to UNH with absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain. Reverses, Flea Flickers, fake Field Goals, Punts and always go for it on 4th down if they are in UNH territory. If I am Coach Gattusso I get with my OC and throw everything at them including the kitchen sink. I believe Stony Brook has a good Defense but I think UNH took them lightly. That is not going to happen two weeks in a row.

Albany is a better team then they are getting credit for but will be hard pressed to take down New Hampshire or Villanova. We expect to beat Delaware and Stony Brook but UNH and Nova are a different animal (pun intended) all together.

UA is a year or two away from establishing itself as a premier program in the CAA so this year has already been a success. 7-5 or 8-4 will not get an At Large and frankly this year we don't care. I am not sure 9-3 will get it done with our schedule so this weekend is our Super Bowl.

If I am UNH I am worried about this game. It really is a trap game. UA has the ability and an upset could happen. IMHO UNH gets it done but stranger things have happened.

Throw the sink at them UA.

Frankly, this may be closer than people think. We absolutely don't have the talent to match UNH player for player however, we always play them tough. The critical aspects of this game are the ability for Fiacchi to continue to manage the game and make big plays in the process, the ability for our O-Line to get some downhill push (this will be difficult), and our DL's ability to move the pocket.

I still think we lose...but in a 7 point game...

Albany has a good solid team and could come out with a W if the same UNH team that played against Stoney Brook shows up. That being said, I think the best thing that could have happened to UNH was the close game they had against Stoney Brook. It was a reality check for them that any team in the CAA can beat another.

you'd need quite a few things to go your way.

*turnovers are the obvious starting point.
*trick plays? sure, i'm all for them if you can execute.
*you also have to watch out for UNH and their early 2 point conversions. they have a long history of doing this and it's more deflating to go down 8-0 than you might think. they've done this for years.

i think you just need to ground and pound and keep the ball away from UNH's offense, but you NEED touchdowns, not just field goals. they're not going to score fewer than about 24 points on a bad day so your offense needs to have a lof of first downs. dominating time of possession will really help, too.

UNH is going to get back on track in terms of preparation. I really like Albany and give them a lot of credit for their improvement for 2nd season in the CAA after being in a 40 scholarship NEC. Like I said in a previous post I really think Albany will be a contender in two years or so. I think Albany will play tough but cannot match UNH man for man for 4 quarters. 38-21 UNH at home.

No doubt we have respect for the Danes but I just think UNH has this one as long as they show up and not think they already have it in the bag before kick-off.

Curious to see how this one goes, should be able to give the Wildcats an idea of what to expect when we play the Danes. Once we play Richmond, theyre the only other game I'm worried about.

Even last year Albany was only down 20-17 after the 1st play of the 4th quarter, and 27-20 with 8 minutes to go before giving up a kickoff return TD, and that's with two turnovers to none for the cats. With our improvement this game should be close again this year. Weather expected to be colder and wet.

Unfortunately for Albany, SBU came in and sort of woke the sleeping giant. UNH was able to sneak away with the win. Now UNH realizes it cant coast the rest of the way and needs to prepare much better. Had Albany played UNH after the bye week like SBU did, then Albany probably has a decent shot. Im pretty confident that UNH knows they made a huge mistake last week and will come out looking much better.

IMO, Albany will likely play very similar to SBU and the game will be extremely close..doubt it's more than 7-10 either way.

Weather, one of the great equalizers! Just like injuries, turnovers and crazy bounces (like the blocked FG which ricocheted almost 30 yards down field in SBU's favor last Saturday leading to a short field and SBU's only score after their first two possessions xrotatehx). It's why they play the games and why even with a favorable schedule down the stretch, nothing can be taken for granted!
