Another question, could San Diego or Dayton beat DIII power Mount Union?

I say no

DetroitFlyer

Mount Union and Dayton would be a VERY close game!

USD would blow out Mount Union.

USD would easily defeat YSU! No question!

USD 33-28

Maybe in 2003 or 2004 when even Girard High School could beat YSU. Thank God Klacik left YSU, though! YSU could easily beat USD!

While USD may or may not deserve a shot in the playoffs due to their schedule. They are clearly the superior team to Dayton and should will easily.:D

I'm not so sure RMU has 24 schollys. They may have 24 kids on scholarship, but not 24 full schollys. Not really here nor there though.

Go DAYTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is election day...no spinning.

RMU does not have 24 full-scholarship athletes. They have 8 full rides dispersed to about 20 guys. Further, they are true-frosh. Most of the guys who played Dayton were R-Fr....but I could be wrong.

Additionally, bragging about beating 1-8 (or is is 2-8) Austin Peay is not something you should hang your hat on.

And a 44 point win over Valpo...well yeah, I would hope so.

That being said...Dayton could pull it off.

Try playing UNI, ILSU, SIU, and WKU back to back to back to back without any bye weeks. Then we'll talk!

The "24" scholly's at Robert Morris were the best information I could get from Robert Morris fans after the game. It may or not be 100% correct, but it is the best information I could lay my hands on. The 30 scholly's at Austin Peay were from their website. Granted APSU has been bad this season, but go back and look at their losses to full scholly teams. Remember, APSU was a PFL bottom feeder for years. It is obvious the schollys vastly improved their program over last year, even though the record does not show it yet.... All that said, I'm certainly not bragging about UD's "resume". For UD to beat USD, the wing and a prayer is what will be needed most!

Any chance that the Flyers can knock off USD, in San Diego on Saturday?

What kind of silly question is this?

San Diego (12) 6-0 9-0
Dayton 1-5 4-5

Dayton is 1-5 in the Pioneer? That says enough to me...

Let's see...

San Diego over Drake 37-0
Drake over Dayton 21-9

That means San Diego over Dayton 58-9

USD beat Valparaiso 68-7... Dayton beat Valparaiso 51-7... Using USD's "Golden Rule", that means USD will beat Dayton 17-0... Again, not meant to disrespect

DetroitFlyer

That is not even a question.... IF Dayton defeats USD, USD is not going to the I-AA playoffs and they would play UC Davis and they would play in the Gridiron Classic. Dayton has a chance to be a big spoiler....

Well, I'm off to San Diego in a couple of hours to see if my Flyers can pull the upset of the year at USD.... Not likely, but I still plan to have a good time! I'll provide my completely unbiased report of USD upon my return next week. I watched USD dismantle my Flyers last season in Dayton, a season in which we finished 9-1 with the only loss to USD.... I have no reason to believe that this year will be better for the Flyers.... Oh well, at least I will be one of the few folks other than the USD fans to offer a bit more of an objective assessment of USD. Someone who will have actually seen USD play, in person! And if you are interested, you can buy a DVD of the game from Channel 4 in San Diego, ( the game is being broadcast live ). I posted the details at UDPRIDE.com. I'm certain I will be able to compare this year's team versus last years team. GO FLYERS!!

The undefeated University of San Diego Toreros square off against the Dayton Flyers in a game with I-AA playoff implications. The USD Toreros, the top ranked I-AA mid-major program in the nation, have great expectations to receive an at-large bid to the 16-team NCAA I-AA playoffs. The pairings will be announced Sunday Nov. 19th. The Toreros would be one of the first non-scholarship programs in history to earn a berth in this championship tournament.

The University of San Diego is looking to post-season play regardless of the NCAA I-AA decision. The Toreros have already earned a bid to play the Northeast Conference Champion in the Gridiron Classic.

Saturday's game is also being televised locally on Channel 4 San Diego and can be heard via the internet by clicking on the "Live" at www.usdtoreros.com.

Tickets are available at the Jenny Craig Pavilion Ticket office. Ticket office open Monday-Friday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and 1.5 hours prior to game.

Reserved: $12, reserved seats; $10, general admission adult; $8, general admission child (ages 4-12); free with USD I.D.
