Two Big South teams ranked, 3 receiving votes. I just hope we win this week so we can have the first ever meeting between two ranked Big South teams.

San Diego is like the Boise State of I-AA. Both are screaming for respect and a chance to prove themselves. In the end, both may get thier shot, but I think a trip to the playoffs or in Boise's case, the BCS is going to be a rude awakening.

Correction: Boise State ACTUALLY SCHEDULES AND BEATS TOP TIER TEAMS...EVERY YEAR (Oregon State comes to mind).

Oregon State had 28 consecutive losing seasons......and although they beat USC they still need to prove that's not a fluke. Of course I am a USC alum so my bias is obvious. :smiley_wi

I believe Oregon St. is 6-3 and will be going to a bowl game. They have played some decent teams in there. Oregon St. win will be big for Boise State. It's not like Boise State doesn't try to schedule big teams (Georgia, Arkansas), but it's hard going on the road to get a game vs a top 25 team. I doubt most top 25 teams will be traveling to the Blue Turf.
Boise St. went 11-1 in 2004 with a loss to Louisville in one of the best bowl games I have seen of late.
Broncos were 13-1 in 2003 with a 2 pt. loss at Oregon St.
They went 12-1 in 2002 with a loss at Arkansas
Last year was a "down" year for the Broncos at 9-4. Losses to 3 ranked teams (2 on the road, one in the bowl) and Oregon St. by 3 on the road.
Give Boise St. a few more years and I will guess they will continue their success. Let's see them get some more quality opponents and see how they do.
Back to I-AA, I think you could see USD crack the top 15, especially with UNI going to SIU. One of those teams will be bumped out of the top 15 with a loss (3rd for SIU or 4th for UNI).

Well if they continue to win, one of the big boys will steal their coach and keep their tradition rolling while putting Boise back 10 years or so.... xlolx

S. Carolina does seem to really be representing in I-AA. The state of Illinois is not doing too bad either with 3 out of 4 teams that play I-AA f-ball all ranked in the top 20. And the fourth school that's not ranked (WIU), I would put against ANY of those schools that are in the receiving votes catagory.
Now our I-A schools (NIU, Northwestern and Illinois) are pretty shameful this year.....ha ha xlolx

I think you might want to check some stats their buddy...since 1999, they are 51-33 with two losing campaigns in 7 years. I dont give a rats ass about the past...it is the last 10 years that count.
And, they are 6-4, demolishing ASU, Washington, and beating your boys.
That, was a good win (and dominating) by Boise State.
Oh, and OSU is guaranteed their 6th winning season in 8 years.
Case closed!

Somebody (read: Arizona State) DID steal their coach, and BSU never missed a beat....in fact, they'd smoke ASU right now.

How did someone who went to USC get hooked on USD?
He probably.....
a) went to USC undergrad and then USD for grad/law school
or
b) USD undergrad and USC for grad school.

Oregon State put an arse whipping on Notre Dame (perhaps you heard of them) in the 2001 Fiesta Bowl: 41-9.
Mrs. Husky Alum (7 months pregnant) and I were at the game and proudly rooted for the Beavers - we even purchased our "got beaver?" T-shirts from some lovely OSU co-eds before the game.
I'd say OSU has arrived - when USD beats a team the calibre of the I-AA version Notre Dame, give me a ring, and then we can talk.
