Can't really figure out why Columbia has so much trouble competing in the Ivy League. Sure, their field is about 80 blocks from campus, but aside from that awful carpet, the facilities are pretty solid. To counter that they have a wonderful academic reputation (probably in the middle of the Ivy League pack) and they offer New York City which sure beats Philadelphia if a kid wants a large city--so I have to think it's an attraction.
I can say from personal experience that they seem to have a problem administratively with the recruiting process, but that should be easily corrected. It seems to me that they should do better. Any insight? Thanks.
