I'll give San Diego the benefit of the doubt and send them to Montana...
McNeese has the $$$ to host a home game...
Had a rough time with the YSU/Maine/Furman/SIU grouping...
Didn't want to send UTM on the road, especially to ILS...
Maybe you can do better...

Cal Poly is a bit of a long shot with tough games remaining.
S Illinois must beat a N Iowa team that is fighting for a playoff spot, could be tough.
I agree with the other 14 picks.
The last 2 at large spots could be interesting picks, as they are every year. There won't be a lot of teams with 8-3 or better records and quality wins available.

My only suggestion would be to have Hampton at James Madison and Coastal at App State.

In my first run through before I whiped it out, I put four Gateway teams in with UNI being the AQ per a scenario I saw from Ralph earlier in the AM. Decided against it, thinking I had more faith in the scenarios not working for a UNI to get an AQ...

Most definitely will be a mess...especially if Montana St beats Montana. That'd be another team in that many had on the outs. That game could very well take a spot from a San Diego as could a UNI win over SIU...

The fiancee is the same way. She's laying in bed watching TV and I'm on AGS talking I-AA football!

I just think that is a more realistic pairing. James Madison is a great team as well - so I'm not sure it matters where we get sent to if fortunate enough to make the playoffs. Any game will be tough

since 1st round is about the cash/ after the seeds
If CCU makes the playoffs we are making a strong bid for home games, I understand we will make a strong bid for all 3 games. And yes I undrstand you have to win to move on but if in and winning our bids will be very competitive

Would love to be on the selection commitee!
Perhaps if the NCAA got their act together...
Ralph would chair the commitee and we'd have Cap'N Cat representing the Midwest, MaineJeff taking the East, Tod taking the West and yours truly representing Texas! :twocents:

November 5th, 2006, 11:18 AM
Maine AND UNH will not both be in.
Maine is 6-3 (5-1). If they lose to UMass this weekend, they are most likely out. If they beat UMass, they basically have an elimination game against UNH in Orono, as UNH is also 6-3. So assuming Maine wins in Amherst (certainly not a given) and UNH takes care of business, we have two 7-3 teams playing.
