It was the lightest week of the 2014 non-conference schedule. Only three of the league's seven teams took to the gridiron in Week 5. Central Connecticut treated its home crowd to a victory, running past CAA member Rhode Island at Arute Field. Saint Francis rolled by a non-Division I opponent at DeGol Field, while Wagner came up short at defending Patriot League champion Lafayette.
