My parents were there AppGuy. I was going to go, but I figured staying home watching/listening to the I-AA games was going to be more fun than watching State play this year: smh : :(
Thanks for the run down. Isn't EIU 6-4 though? They were 5-4 going into today, so something about 6-3 seems wrong:p

You are correct. They are 6-4, they'll play 12 games since they went to Hawai'i...

What does it matter? They got the job done and won. I don’t think teams that win should lose points.

A win is a win is a win...
Montana played a top 10 team...
UMass played a top 10 team...
YSU played a team that is just on the outskirts of the top 10 and will probably go to the playoffs...
These were like playoff games and to come out of these emotional contests with wins means a lot..

That list looks pretty good to me - who would you suggest should be removed and who would you replace them with?

I think Ralph is just trying to bring about some discussion, which he obviously succeeded at! :)
Lots of great games this past weekend, which got recapped on I-AA.org in DC's column. Many more the next two weeks as teams try to get into the playoffs...

Agree, but I think you have North Dakota St. too high at #3, and they struggle against a team with a losing record. Would drop them out of top 5.

A losing record...yes.
A tough game on the road...yes as well.
I really think highly of North Dakota St and they did come back in tough conditions. Had a tough time in making that call, but I did not have an overwhelming argument to drop them especially since UNH doesn't look like a top 15-20 team right now and James Madison did get a nice win over a losing team, but it was at home...

We didn't win. We dominated. In fact, we pretty much dominated every game we played since the ASU game. (maybe the lone exception being the URI game)
We beat some of teams that were really good when we played them, and kind of fell apart after that - UNH, Richmond. (I'm not saying they fell apart BECAUSE we played them, but a lot of people spin it in a way that makes some of our wins look less impressive) Likewise, we also played a team that wasn't very good when we played them, but now seems to be doing at least decent (Northeastern)

JMU can definitely make some noise once they step into the playoffs. JMU is a playoff-tested team. I know you guys got quite a few players from that 2004 championship team still around. JMU is definitely not a team I'd want to face until Chatty. Then again, I can say the same thing for Montana. I'd hate to make a trip to Missoula in the playoffs....

Hey, same here. Boone, Missoula..places I'd rather avoid. That's why I'd like to see us grab a seed. We don't need home games, as we've showed in 2004, but it would certainly be nice!

A single game does not a season make. Look at the rest of our performances and then tell me we aren't a top 5 team. :nono:
Yes we did struggle in the first half. Many very good teams struggle at times. The important part is that we overcame.
Had you watched the game you would have seen a team in the second half with drive, determination, and a will to win. NDSU got dominated in the first half, made adjustments, and returned the favor.
Great Job Coach Bohl!
I have to say, I place more value on this win than if we would have led the whole game and won by multiple touchdowns.

Another thing you have to remember was that this was our 6th road game in 7 weeks. It seemed like in the first half this might have caught up with them. But after the coaches talked to them at halftime they came out and put on a marvelous performance, worthy of a top 5 team.
Also, remember that this is the same UCD team that beat a top 25 team in Montana St. 45-0 in Bozeman. You have to look at more than just the record. Davis is definetly better than their record indicates.

I agree completely. UC Davis has had a couple of down weeks lately but John Grant is still a very good quarterback.
NDSU is the most impressive team for me to watch. They just keep winning and could very realistically have been undefeated this year. They still have 2 tough games left in Cal Poly and SDSU, but if they win those two, they would be the top team in 1-AA in my opinion, regardless of playoff eligibility.

True, but Appy is the NC, finishes 10-1 with only loss to an IA school. I just don't think you get ranked above Mass and JMU. We will see how the next 2 weeks work out for all 3 teams.

So the only difference is that NDSU isnt the NC. NDSU is 1-1 against D-IA teams with a possibility of going 10-1, only loss coming by 1 point to a Big Ten team.
I dont really see your point with this post.

As I said, we will see what happens the next 2 weeks. NDSU still needs 2 wins to get to 10-1. If they can do that and Mass and JMU lose, I would have to agree with a 3rd place ranking.

I think this is one of NDSU's best games. They showed today why they are a great team. They have destroyed everyone to date....atleast it seems like it.....and they came back on the road against a very good UC-Davis team. By how far they had to come back.....this is one of their most impressive wins. Signs of a mature team with lots of character.
