Eastern Illinois has five all-time wins against FBS schools including a 40-19 win over San Diego State last season.** The other four wins over FBS schools are all current members of the Mid-American Conference.* EIU's last win over a school from the MAC was on Sept. 25, 2004, a 31-28 win at Eastern Michigan.** EIU is 0-3 in FBS games in the state of Ohio (0-2 at Toledo and 0-1 at Akron).*2.)*Eastern Illinois tied the school record for rushing yards in a game with 413 during Saturday's 63-7 win over Austin Peay.** It marked the second time in school history that EIU has rushed for more than 400 yards in a game.** Last season EIU had 413 in a win over Jacksonville State.** Jalen Whitlow set the EIU school record for rushing yards by a quarterback in the contest with 137.** The previous record was 134 set by Joe Davis in 1968 against Bradley University.*3.)*Eastern Illinois defense forced a turnover for the fourth straight game this season as the Panthers now have a streak of 11 straight games with forcing at least one turnover.** Brandon Ross forced a fumble in the second half that was recovered by Bradley Dewberry.** EIU has one forced turnover in each game this season with two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.*4.)*Eastern Illinois leads the FCS in plays per game at 85.2 while ranking second in the FCS in first downs.* EIU had 34 first downs in Saturday's win over Austin Peay while running 82 plays.** EIU's season high for plays this year is 96 in the season opener at Minnesota.** The Panthers rank 16th in the FCS in total offense as they have outgained their opponents in all four games this season.*5.)*Eastern Illinois had two players earn Ohio Valley Conference honors this week following the win over Austin Peay.** Jalen Whitlow was named the co-Newcomer of the Week.* Antonie Johnson was named the OVC Special Teams Player of the Week.* Johnson blocked a punt in the second half and recovered the ball in the end zone for a touchdown.* It was EIU's first blocked punt returned for a touchdown since the second round of last year's FCS playoffs against Tennessee State.* Johnson added two tackles as a defensive back.
