Honorable mention:

Sam Houston at Lamar - Is Sammy really this bad and is Lamar an SLC contender? We'll find out.
Fordham at Holy Cross - Interesting early road test for the Patriot favorites.
Eastern Washington at UC Davis - Same thing for the Eagles coming off the shootout last weekend.
William & Mary at Stony Brook - Tricky road game for inconsistent Tribe offense against strong SBU D.

10(b). Army at Yale - Feels like Brian Dowling should be playing. No playoff eligibility involved so no larger implications than a possible Bulldog FBS win in the Yale Bowl's 100th season. Still a fun throwback game. Should be a good atmosphere in New Haven.

10. Dartmouth at New Hampshire - Not many games between winning teams. Intrastate battle an added bonus.
9. Charleston Southern at Charlotte - Most people have a pretty good handle on Coastal and Liberty, but CSU is a wild card in the Big South race. A road game against a surprisingly solid Charlotte team could help define the Buccaneers
8/7. Samford at Chattanooga/WCU at Furman - Critical early games in SoCon race
6/5. Delaware at JMU/Maine at Towson - Loser will already feel the season slipping away. Winner hangs on to relevance a bit longer.
4/3. N. Colorado at Montana/N Dakota at Montana State - How will the home teams bounce back from well-played losses?
2. W Illinois at S Illinois - Pick a direction! Interesting matchup to kick off the MVFC slate for both teams.
1. Liberty at Indiana State - Hard to believe it's the game of the week but a big game for both teams. A Liberty win would be a big feather in the cap if they fail to get the Big South auto-bid and need help from the selection committee. The Sycamores would love the win for a little more breathing room heading into the MVFC gauntlet.

We did both lose last week to low-level Big 10 teams. This is the first real test of where Western is on the path to recovery. We've seen flashes of some really good football, but they've got to minimize the mistakes. Really, remove two stupid mistakes on Western's part from the game and Northwestern, and we would have won. We had more yards, more 1st downs, and a greater time of possession. We just didn't put the points on the board that we needed to.

We haven't allowed a 100 yard rushing performance against us so far this year (including holding one of the best RBs in the Big 10, Melvin Gordon, to 38 yards and 0 TDs), so we'll see how we do against Malcolm Agnew, SIU's RB who's had 140+ yards every game except against Purdue.

Kats better bring it this week. If Lamar gets on top they will not take their foot of the pedal because of what SHSU has done to them in the past.

The UNH game will also be the first night game ever played at Cowell Stadium, as they unveil the new lights that are part of the $20-25 million stadium rehab/expansion.

Is Lamar a SLC contender? No.
Agreed. They're not a contender whether they beat us or not.

What do you mean "well played"? According to Mr. Facts, we were lucky to have gotten through Thunderstruck without going down by 5 scores.

If EWU gets a defense, they'll be tough.

Is Sam Houston a contender if they win?

Nope, we have to win them all now.
