The key to this game will be the 1st qtr. The longer Lehigh makes a game of it, the more confidence they will gain. If its 28-0 before you can blink (thanks for representing the PL in the playoff Laf) well, we know how that will end.

Yeah I mentioned it on the UNH board, too many things working in UNH's favor. If UNH had beaten Toledo, Lehigh may be able to sneak in a win, but that's not the case. UNH is hungry for a win, had two weeks off, is at home, and lets face it, they have more talent too. There's also a revenge factor for last year, which every player mentioned this week in interviews.
Lehigh always gives a good fight, but I see it being UNH 38-17 or something around that.
I don't want to slight Lehigh but it will sound like it: if UNH doesn't win decisively, they aren't a top ten team right now.

Lehigh matches up pretty well with UNH. Both teams are built a lot alike. The odds say Lehigh won't beat a darn good UNH twice in a row. With that said, if this isn't a game late in the 3rd I'll be a bit surprised. I gave Lehigh a 10% shot to win this one before the year started. Based on each teams first game I'll give Lehigh a 33.3% chance....

They were not a top ten team last season at this point, but what a difference 7-8 weeks makes. Lehigh hopes to get better and peak in November like you guys did last season. UNH should win by 20, xpeacex

For whatever it is worth, the MeTV affiliate in DC did NOT carry last week's Fordham/Villanova game, even though the game was listed in the on-screen guide. (The Fordham/Villanova game was also televised on the American Sports Network.) I sent them a nasty note. Hopefully I won't be doing that again this week.
Incidentally, the Fordham/Villanova game, which featured a Patriot League team at a CAA team, WAS streamed via the Patriot League website. Why isn't Lehigh/New Hampshire being streamed?

RE: LFN's link above and this week's college football schedule - for people who pay attention to Division II football and the PSAC in particular, the Slippery Rock/East Stroudsburg game at 6 PM will be broadcast by PA Sports Fever (available on various TV stations within and near Pennsylvania) and available for streaming at ESPN3/WatchESPN. Somewhat ironically, PA Sports Fever is quite similar to the American Sports Network (though it has a Pennsylvania focus obviously) with the significant exception that PA Sports Fever broadcast games WILL be picked by ESPN for streaming.

How can you not switch a OL to DL? Most of these kids played both ways in HS. You simply don't have a chance with a DL this small. In 2006 Lehigh had a NG, #55 IIRC, that fought like heck but had no chance. That DL was undersized and rather poor but not this bad....

Engineers, I think you're going to have to keep it simple up front in the second half. The elaborate stunts and pulls are not working and they're shedding you off. I'm thinking basic plays where the OL squares up straight on for the runs. On defense, if UNH is going to out-muscle you and push you to the side, I'd like to see the Lehigh LBs not be a part of the fallout from that. Maybe lay back just a tad and mind the gaps. it *might* limit the damage, I don't know . . .

Next to the HC game a few years ago this is the worst LU performance in the last 20 years. They've quit on defense....

Spears could play on Sundays
I think Harris could play on Sundays as well he reminds of Victor Cruz when he was at UMass

For Citdog - just heard the announcers use the word "fanny" (in the human rear end context).

I'm concerned that the PL couldn't even play on Friday nights.
New Hampshire now OWNS both Lafayette and Lehigh. You have every right to laugh at our "Yankee Stadium" game. xsmhx

I'm in the minority in this thread, but hopefully Lafayette plays a lot better against Robert Morris than Lehigh is playing against New Hampshire.

Parrish should be put at DB. His QB gets drilled and once against he can't make a play....

Good to see Lehigh do something positive on defense (and before that, special teams) and convert on offense.

Shaf has played well again. If the WR's could catch his numbers would be much better. His hasn't made a bad decision....

Good to see the renderings for the rebuilt UNH stadium. It looks like it will be pretty nice.

Box score here at O'Hare reads like LU even w UNH in second half. I must assume it is because we are playing their scout team in second half, yeah?

But we have to play W&M they could put out one legged grandmothers on the field and still beat us. Over the years that game is an automatic loss.

What did we learn? Lehigh's starters can compete with UNH's backups and we confirmed that Lehigh's WRs can't catch.

UNH also had two turnovers that gave Lehigh the ball in the redzone twice, lead directly to 14 points. UNH was the much better team and pretty much gave up shortly after the half.
Also, that was one of the longest games I can remember....3 and a half hours.

College football games in general, especially Division I-A/FBS games, are becoming WAAAAAAY too long. I blame TV, more passing, more scoring, and TV.

Wanted to say for posterity that the Lehigh/UNH broadcast on NESN's online stream on YouTube got nearly 5,000 hits, which was the second-most watched item on NESN's YouTube list, outperforming Bruins and Red Sox features, and the Marshall/URI game. Not too shabby.

Even more reason why they should have televised the game instead of Duke-Kansas!!!!

NESN must have thought it was a Duke/Kansas basketball game.
