Many of us on this board are fans of all levels of college football. As a result, I thought I'd ask what everyone's favorite teams are across the other divisions.
Mine are, in order of preference for each division:
I-A: Arizona, Arizona St. and Whoever is playing Notre Dame
II: None... I never really followed D-II football
III: Moravian College (Bethlehem, PA) and Alfred University (NY State)

I like BYU, Notre Dame and Boise State was great this yr.

In DII I like UNO (Nebraska Omaha) and the new DII school U-Mary of Bismarck could be a great in state inter-divisional rival for NDSU. Universities from the States two biggest cities always make a great game.

In DIII, St. Johns.

DI-AA. NDSU BISON

I-A Penn State
D-II Don't really have one, though I like to see the PA Conference Champion do well in the playoffs.
D-III Moravian College Greyhounds (Bethlehem, PA). A very solid program over many years, but always in the shadow of South Mountain (Lehigh).

Hey Marcus--you're in Tucson, AZ. What's the connection with Moravian? It's a good little school.

You have a degree from UNO but still like Nebraska-Lincoln? Though there was some envy/rivalry there, like GSU and UGa.

I don't follow D-II or D-III, but my favorite I-A schools are North Carolina (more for basketball though) and Army.

No matter what school you go to in Nebraska, the Cornhuskers are King. Similar to the Packers in Wisconsin.

I-A: Fan of the Mountain West (BSC underdogs) favorite team of MWC is Wyoming (good ol' Joe Glenn).

Division II: Central Washington (about the closest DII to MT, and they usually have a pretty good team)

Division III: Pacific Lutheran (the Lutes) and St. Johns Minn.

NAIA - Rocky Moutain College (went there 2 years), but cheer for Carroll College when they aren't playing Rocky.

II Bloomsburg
III Ithaca/Cortland. Basically whoever is doing well out of those too. I also follow the MACC conference - Freedom conference (Wilkes, Lycoming, Del Val, FDU, Scranton, Kings...)

colgate13: The Middle Atlantic Corporation consists of 2 conferences of 8 teams for olympic sports (Freedom and Commonwealth) and only has 11 football playing members. For football, they use the "old" name, "Middle Atlantic Conference." In your list above, you mentioned Scranton, but they don't play football. The non football members of the MAC are Scranton, Elizabethtown, Messiah, Drew and DeSales. But then again, I don't want to get technical. ;)

ngineer: I grew up in Bethlehem, and have a personal connection to Moravian. That's as much info as I'm willing to give out, for I value my anonimity. :D

I grew up in Western Iowa and was exposed to Omaha TV and newspapers until I went to college. I also spent a fair amount of time in Omaha as well.

I would have to say that there is absolutely no envy/rivalry between the 2 schools at all. On Omaha TV, the Huskers are the lead story during Football season. Not the lead sports story, the lead story. UNO gets a little coverage at the end of the sports segment, time permitting.

The city of Omaha is red on Husker game days. I remember being in Omaha on a game day and going to a Denny's. The entire staff was decked out in Husker Red. Husker hats and t-shirts are everywhere. One would be hard pressed to find any UNO memoribilia.

I am unfamiliar of the rivalry between GSU and UGa, but comparing UNO to Nebraska is comparing apples to oranges.

I don't live far from Wartburg at all. It is a very good school. After UNI, I would be more than happy to have my kids go to Wartburg.

Didn't mean to pry ;) I played against Moravian's HC in high school. He's a classy guy and runs a nice program. They're installing an artificial turf field at old Steel Field as I speak.

It's all good! I know about the turf upgrades. The facilities for visiting opponents are horrible, so I'm glad they're upgrading them.
As for Dapp... I know him, and disagree with your "classy" statement. However, that's another personal issue. Not everyone can be a member of the Marcus Garvey "fan club," same as not everyone will belong to the Scot Dapp "fan club" either! :)
