Freshman Kye Hall shined in his Crusader debut, leading the Valpo defense with 10 tackles - including one for a loss. But a speedy, strong Western Illinois squad prevailed with a 45-6 victory in its home opener. Tanner Kuramata hauled in seven catches for 76 yards as the senior wide receiver set game highs in both categories.
