Coming in today at no. 11 in the Top 50 Greatest Football Players in Alcorn history is none other than Donald "Quickie" Driver.* Driver played for the Braves from 1996 to 1998 as a wide receiver and was well known for escaping from defenders with his swift feet.His first season as a Brave in 1996, Driver recorded 12 catches for 249 yards and scored one touchdown.In 1997 he reeled in 21 passes for 556 yards and scored six touchdowns to lead the Braves.Driver's final season in 1998, he set personal career records.* He caught a team-high 55 passes for 1,128 yards and scored 10 touchdowns in 11 games.* He averaged 20.5 yards per catch and 5.0 catches per game.* He earned All-SWAC 2nd Team Offensive honors that season and he received national attention from NFL scouts.* He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in 1999.Driver totaled 1,933 yards in his career and caught 88 total passes.* He scored a total of 17 touchdowns and is currently ranked 7th in Alcorn history.He went on to having a great career in the NFL and helped the Green Bay Packers win the Super Bowl in 2011.* He was*the first Alcornite to win the nationally televised show*"Dancing With the Stars" in 2012 and is the author of three books.
