looks like UNI will drop out of top 10.. YSU will move up in it and ISU will be right below them... will WKU make their second appearance in the top 25 this week?

good amount of upsets this week...

my guess ISU lands around the 7 or 8 spot and YSU just above em by a spot or two... good game fellas

My top 5 for this week:

1. Appalachian State
2. Montana
3. James Madison
4. Massachusetts
5. North Dakota State

While I want the Dukes to be in first place in my heart, I know App, Montana and UMass at the very least should be better in the polls. UMass's score vs. N.Eastern is a big result of the weather.

I really wish there would be a UMass vs. JMU A10 title game. Also congrats to App St. for crushing a tough rival in Furman. That was unexpected and impressive!!

San Diego cracks Top 20 this week?

Only because of this...too many teams in 12-20 range lost. San Diego was right on the brink and not too many teams worthy to move above them...

12. Princeton (6-1) lost 7-14 at Cornell (3-4)
13. Richmond (5-3) lost 10-27 vs. #5 James Madison (7-1)
16. Maine (5-3) lost 0-3 at Rhode Island (3-4)
17. UC Davis (4-4) lost 21-22 at South Dakota St (5-3)

I think JMU has proved more than UMass so far. Not much, but at least to some degree.

I actually don't know if I should slip UMass to #6 and have NDSU and Cal-Poly at 4-5 in either order, now that I think about it...

South Dakota State should be Top 20 (if not Top 15) and Davis should drop off entirely. If a 5-3 Jackrabbit team who beat then #5 Cal Poly and #17 UCD hasn't proven itself yet, then I don't know what it takes. And while I have much respect for Davis, a 4-4 record no matter who you played doesn't deserve a ranking.

This time of year..some teams 'hitting the wall' and others 'hitting their stride'. A real jumble with a lot of Top 25 teams losing (granted, some to other Top 25's), but it seems that some slow starters may now be starting to feel their oats. Hellacious weather in the northeast on Saturday may have also been partly the cause for some aberrant scores..It's getting 'interestinger'...

Delaware St won over South Carolina St tonight. South Carolina St obviously is the team that beat Hampton last week. Those two teams from the last few years have been the class of the MEAC. Delaware St has losses at NWST and to Hampton. Four wins in a row right now including a win over a Bethune-Cookman team that's looking really good.

Schedule favors Delaware St to finish 9-2. If Hampton does not lose to Bethune-Cookman or Florida A&M, Delaware St will not get the championship and auto-bid, but I definitely think Delaware St is playing some good football right now and I really didn't want to put in some of the three and for loss teams that others will (and have) in...

Thanks for the update and the link. The only thing I really knew about Del State was their close loss to NW State earlier, but withthe way the SLC has been playing this year I guess I subconscously (sp?) discounted any team that has a loss to an SLC team. :smiley_wi

In our defense, Liberty has been playing everyone close and as you know, for some reason we like to keep it close as well.

You really have us jumping that much? I mean, we barely won today over a team that would be an average I-AA team, and you guys have been kicking a** all season. If CP is higher than 7 this week I'll be very surprised.

The Jacks also should be top 20 after the last 2 weeks, those are amazing comebacks. I'm still shell-shocked from our game last week. Cripes....

Honestly, who is hotter in the country right now than JMU? In the last 3 weeks, they have gone on the road twice and blown out then #1 and #13 in the country. No dispute in my mind that App. and Montana are ahead of them, I am just saying that they are the hottest team going RIGHT NOW!

GO DUKES!
