That PL list is not yet complete. I'm sure some additional Lehigh games will be broadcast locally. It's safe to assume that all of Lafayette's away games will be televised locally and regionally as well, as they have been for each of the last seventeen years. Every PL/Ivy game, too (except vs. Georgetown).

I could be wrong, but I have a hunch that Lafayette/Lehigh #150 might also find its way to broadcast television, seeing as how the game has sold out Yankee Stadium and all. Unless they opt for the Georgetown game instead that weekend . . . hard to say. Really tough call. Could go either way.

What is the Southland TV Network? Is that a regional broadcast though COX/TW?

Here's the best short answer from the SLC website ...

The Southland Conference Television Network enters its seventh football season in 2014, set to feature a 10-game schedule. The matchups will be featured on more than 25 affiliates (http://southland.org/common/controls/doc_handler.aspx?doc=339&) across Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas, as well as nationwide on ESPN3 (http://southland.org/sports/2014/6/26/ESPN3.aspx?id=230&) and ESPN GamePlan (http://espngameplan.espn.com/).

Not privy to Southern's arrangement with Cox Sports but the Southland Network is a web of various affiliates across the south and southwest, and recently picked up a station in Jacksonville, Florida ... and they're adding all the time. Have to hand it to the folks in the Southland office, they're doing a super job building the network and marketing our conference!

This was in 2002, it's been renewed and expanded since than, but this is the only article I could find.

SU Signs Deal With Regional Cable Network

http://www.theadvocate.com/stories/1...cable001.shtml (http://www.theadvocate.com/stories/113002/new_sucable001.shtml)

Southern board OKs sports cable contract

NEW ORLEANS -- The Southern University Board of Supervisors approved a contract Friday to allow Southern University sports events to be shown on a new regional cable television channel.
Edward Jackson, chancellor of Southern University's Baton Rouge campus, said the pact with Cox Sports Television provides for the broadcasting of selected Southern basketball, baseball and football games.

The deal calls for the broadcasting of 25 Southern University sporting events, plus two other optional events, Jackson said.

Jackson said the new channel also plans to show New Orleans Hornets games and other college sporting events.

The new sports channel will reach into an estimated 1.2 million homes from eastern Texas to western Florida, Jackson said.

In return for the right to broadcast its games, Southern will receive the right to sell 25 percent of the commercials aired during its events.

"This won't cost us anything, and in fact we should make money on this," Jackson told the board.

Southern University System Vice President Ralph Slaughter said the only sticking point may be the cable channel's plan to carry the annual Bayou Classic football game between Grambling and Southern.

Slaughter noted that NBC has exclusive rights to the Bayou Classic.

The board unanimously approved the contract Friday with the provision that the Bayou Classic may have to be excluded, unless NBC agrees to allow the new channel to carry it.

Yeah, I knew Cox carried broadcasts of various Southern sports, but I guess the difference would be the Southland Network is an actual network of individual affiliates (including local TV stations) that agree to pick up the individual broadcasts. If I'm correct, Southern is pretty much exclusively on Cox Sports and whichever cable providers choose to carry the channel???

And I guess the other question would be how many of Southern's games on Cox are shown live and how many are replay only?

I pretty sure when they renewed the contract, it allowed for different affiliates.

Example there were a couple off games that were broadcast via espnu and like wise the last couple of years they have been able to replay the bayou classic on their network.

Live games are kept at a minimum for fear of affecting the gate, normally they'll do homecoming and a game like Jackson State, one's they know well be packed.

Football is a minimum of two games, a maximum of three, which is great since the most home games we've had had been five. Baseball, Basketball and softball more frequent.

ESPN had exclusive rights to all SWAC games and they normally pick and extra game up here and there.

SouthlandTV is internet-based (there's also an app for that) for live streaming and on demand events: http://www.southland.org/watch/?Live=90
The football games that are streamed here are also available on TV throughout the Southland footprint like Cox (in Houston games are on KUBE-57 and many of the games are also available on ESPN Gameplan).

Actually now that I think about it, all of our home (football) games are broadcast live, I'm normally at the games, and I tend to forget that, because when I do see them they're replays.

NDSU has yet to announce their tv schedule (as far as I know).

I would assume every NDSU game will be televised, as even the spring Green vs Gold game was on NBC. So far atleast 3 of our opponents have announced games vs NDSU being on tv.

Weber State on Altitude/NBC ND. Iowa State on Fox Sports 1. Western Illinois on NBC ND/ESPN3.

MVFC is reporting about 57 games on tv. No list as to which they are.

The MVFC is producing 7 of those games, 50 additional games being produced by other entities.
