The other 50 candidates alongside him are all FBS candidates.

Although he is listed as a DE, the Butkus Award is given to the best linebacker who excels both in football and in the community.

Were there FCS candidates in this Watch List years before?

Cqulin Hubert from Southeastern Louisiana was on the Butkus Watch List last year.

Hodges should have been listed on the Lombardi list, not Butkus. If I'm putting a FCS player on the Butkus it would be Lynden Trail, because he's the #1 LB on my board and is a LB.

I remember DJ Smith and Hubert was as well, as someone else mentioned, but I don't think he deserved to be on it. Not meaning to bash him but he wasn't a level above everyone else in FCS like Hodges, Trail, etc.

I think there are 3 or 4 juniors with a good shot at this stuff next year.

I would also throw in Tull as well.

I also think Tull and Xavier Williams should have been mentioned.
