Tim Leger serves as the offensive coordinator while also coaching the wide receivers, the second straight season in that role after he coached the quarterbacks prior to 2012.
He is in his seventh season with the Cowboys and is one of two former Poke quarterbacks to be a fulltime member of the coaching staff this season, the other being Slade Nagle.
Leger was an all-conference quarterback in 1996 when he led the league in passing and set a school record for total offense per game of 230.5 yards. He played on league championship teams in 1995 and 1997, the ‘97 team advancing to the Division I national championship game.
Prior to joining McNeese, Leger served as offensive coordinator and quarterback coach at St. Thomas More High in Lafayette, LA, helping that school to four state semifinal appearances as well as to six district titles. More than 30 of the prep players he helped coach have gone on to collegiate careers.
At McNeese he tutored Derrick Fourroux who won SLC player of the year honors in 2009.The Leger File
