NDSU beat Auburn today in the NCAA regionals for women's softball. They play the University of Minnesota tommorow. On 4/30 NDSU and Minnesota were supposed to play a double header but the series was cancelled.

NDSU has been to the tournament 5 times: in 2009 (3 wins), 2010, 2011, 2012 (1 win), 2014 (1-0).

Their best performance was making it to the super regionals in 2009, W vs #9 Oklahoma and two victories over Tulsa to win the regional.

Normally I would pull for the Bison over the Gophers, but since I have a former student who won my Social Studies award her senior year starting for Minnesota ............

Tough game with the goofs. Would have been nice to win that instead of playing again tonight. Gonna be tough for anyone to beat Minnesota twice tomorrow.

I was watching the game on the net. I was wondering if anyone else got as sick as I was of them talking about how NDSU has ten players from California, and then mentioning how nice it was for the Gophers to have some in state players.

It was a really good game but yes, the Bison (and not the Bisons as they said several times) will have a hard time coming back after that loss. Tough row to hoe.

Meanwhile, Dartmouth was mercy-ruled by the Sun Devils 8-0 in 5 innings yesterday. Today, they were sent packing by the Aztecs, 8-0 in 6 innings.

Auburn knocked off NDSU so they are done. Too bad, I wanted to see a rematch between NDSU and the Goofers.

Who was calling that game, Sid Hartman?

Some students.

The inning and a half I listened, I can confirm what Laker is saying.

However, I thought they were trying to be relatively unbaised by including alot of NDSU commentary (They were UMinn students).

Yes, they were pretty complimentary overall. They just kept emphasizing the California connection too much. The game itself lasted two and a half hours, which is pretty long for softball. I suppose that they needed filler.

Well, they look like softball chicks.
