Marcus Mason won't get it, but once again was very impressive vs. a UNI defense which was averaging allowing just 98 yards of offense on the ground..
Mason had 172 yards on 33 carries. He now has 1072 yards this season through 7 games.. which is 179 yards per game.. OUTSTANDING!

Akeem Jordan, JMU LB... second straight 18 tackle performance. He was credited with eight unassisted tackles, 4.5 stops for loss and 1.5 quarterback sacks. Jordan had 18 tackles a week ago at New Hampshire and had 15-stop games at Appalachian State and against Rhode Island.

Marcel Marquez 25/40 336 Yards 3TD 0INT
Jack Rolovich 16/27 323 Yards 3TD 1INT
Matt Gutierrez 20/39 282 Yards 2TD 0INT

Mason was awesome today. I dreaded seeing him get the ball. You should have just given it to him everytime.

After seeing the first 2 Zetts interceptions, I wanted to see him get the ball more... No one can stop him, that is the bright spot of this team!
And in all honesty, despite 5 2nd half turnovers, somehow this team still had a chance to send it to OT...... If we can eliminate those turnovers next week vs. ILSU; then maybe we can win it.... Mason will have a big day of course, but it will come down to whether or not Zetts can respond..... if not: its time for Mike Schneider.

Akeem is making some noise indeed. Had a similar stellar performance last week against UNH as you mentioned, when Chuck Suppon received the A-10 Defensive player of the week honors.
Did you enjoy the game, Ralph?

Antionio Heffner of Tennessee State singlehanded destroyed us.
If this guy can make a roster in the NFL you will see him as a WR someday. He is quick in all directions.

Holy Cross Soph quarterback Dominic Randolph threw for four touchdowns and rushed for another score vs 'Pards
Completed 34 of 46 passes on the day for 352 yards, setting new career highs in all three categories. He also set a new school single game record for completions

Hard to believe no one has mentioned QB Andy Kardoes from SDSU...took the Jackrabbits from a 28-6 deficit at the start of the 4th quarter against Cal Poly and picked apart the (up-to-that-point) #1 pass defense in D1-AA with three TD passes and then, when the coach said to go for 1 to tie the game, promised the coach that if he'd order a 2-pt conversion, he'd get in the endzone. He did. SDSU 29, Cal Poly 28.

JackJD, I agree with this, but what about WR Jaron Harris with 3 TD's receiving in the fourth quarter also. 6 total receptions for 133 yards. Sure these stats arent as impressive as many other players, but this was against Cal-Poly's #1 ranked defense against the pass in I-AA. This gave the Jacks an upset victory (29-28) over #4 ranked Cal-Poly. Biggest upset of the week if you look at rankings (my opinion). What does everyone else think???

Johnny Gray tallied career-highs in catches (7), receiving yards (160) and touchdowns (3) in a 31-23 UNI victory over No. 5-ranked Youngstown State. Gray had touchdown receptions from 6, 15 and 70 yards in the victory. The sophomore also had a pair of 40-plus yard kick returns (44, 41) against the Penguins and added one carry for a 10-yard gain. Gray finished the day with 258 all-purpose yards (160 receiving, 85 KR, 10 rushing, 3 PR).

Freshman Jordan Sorrells showed a little bit of the future of Furman Football yesterday. In his second career start, he threw for 300+ yards with two touchdowns, led the team on a drive in the last two minutes to tie it up, then threw a TD in overtime to end the game. Not a bad day for the young man:hurray:

How about a special teams player?
RS Craig Turner, Southern Illinois
Jr., 5-10, 190, Boutte (La.) Hahnville High
Turner piled up a career-high 233 return yards in a gem of a performance against Western Kentucky Saturday. He returned three punts for 133 yards and four kickoffs for 98 yards. Turner scored one of two special teams TDs for the Salukis in the first half when he returned a punt for 83 yards to give SIU a 21-7 lead at the 10:50 mark in the second quarter. His 83-yard touchdown marked the third longest on a punt return in school history. Turner’s 233 yards on special teams single-handedly bettered SIU’s 200 yards of total offense vs. WKU.

This is Akeem Jordan playing on a team with a Buchanan award watch list player and the A10's sack leader Kevin Winston. He is now 19 tackles ahead of the next best in the A10.
