Halftime speech will do the GRIZ good. They won't lose this game. This team is built to win games like this. But, they aren't built to trail teams like Cal Poly at halftime. That's what worries me. That game is only two weeks away. We certainly don't need any injuries in the second half of this game.

I REALLY want to make that 60 mile drive north from Cedartown, GA to Chattanooga, TN this year. GRIZ better not overlook ISU next week in prep for Cal Poly in two weeks.

#2 No WAY!Uh, you do know that Montana had 17 point lead with less that 8 minutes left in the game right? Then Weber State broke a 100 yard kick off return, and had another long drive to make it close as time expired. I'm not sure how Montana was 'lucky" to win, I would say WSU was lucky to be in the game.

Lucky is when you are leading by 3 with 4 minutes left and have to punt from your own 20 and the other team is foolish enough to put 12 men on the Field and commit a holding penalty so they have to start their drive from their own 10 instead of mid field.

edit - forgot to add, Montana had a 17 point lead late in the 4th qtr over a WSU team that had an extra week to prepare for the Griz coming off a bye week. Griz were sure lucky WSU had that bye week, huh (like NAU and MSU also have before playing the Griz)?

We put up 427 yards and 33 points on the #1 defense in the Conference. It was close at the end but as Grizbeer pointed out we were never challenged. I hate that when the scrubs get in the other team always gets garbage points to make it look closer than it was. But that's our Coach, he likes to play lot's of guys.

I Bleed Purple

Since when do scrub points count on kickoff returns?

Anyway, this halftime talk drivel is pretty ridiculous. A flukey type interception is what set Montana on their way. When the ball hits a receiver in the hands and pops up in the arms of a linebacker, it's not because of a great motivational speech. Another flukey interception put UM in position for their final points. Fell into I think a safety's hands.

What UM did is exploit the one weakness in WSU's defense, cornerbacks not named Bo Smith. Bo did get beat on the 50+ yarder at the end of the half, but it took a perfect throw to do it. What I found odd is that we played tight man to man on big receivers with no safety help over the top. What, does UM throw lots of quick slants on corners that drop back?

What I saw was a good Montana offense and good Montana defense. Certainly not great. I see it as the BSC being out quickly in the playoffs again, or at least until UM has a road game.

I smell sour grapes. Weber had 2 weeks to give the Griz its best at home and couldn't do it. Will ASU also be an early out in the playoffs since they only beat unranked GSU with 2 OT's?

On another note tho, since when did WSU fans get internet access?

You let me know Tod when Weber was in field goal range or even had the ball after they got to 33-30? They never even had the ball again. The game was OVER! We were never in danger and as always we took a knee to end the game. The game was never in question after the middle of the 3rd and it was a herculian effort that they even made it close. I even said to someone I was watching the game with, there's 2 minutes left, they are down by 10, they are dead they just don't know it yet.

UM won because it's a better team. In the second half, UM's defense held Weber to 66 yards--4 out of 5 three and outs and 1 first down--excluding Weber's last drive of the game. Swogger threw for 356 yards, averaging 17yards per completion. The UM receivers caught the ball very well. UM had no turnovers.

Weber's coach, tho, was not discouraged by the loss. He said it was the best game Weber has played this year, and the first time he could say they were a good football game.

Probably right here. What UM was really good at Saturday was open field tackling. Trevyn Smith only had about 75 yards. He had two plays I remember where had not an open tackle been made, he would have had 40-70 more yards gained.

#2 No WAY!

For the second week in a row, the Griz went ON THE ROAD to a BSC team that had two weeks to prepare for them. They'll be fine. 33-30 looks scary, but 33-23 would have looked fine if they hadn't let the late TD across.

They need to do two things, however:

1) Do a MUCH better job of protecting Swogger
2) Learn to put away teams. They've let 3 consecutive opponents back (relatively) into games, and that will come back and bite them in the butt against a quality opponent like Cal Poly.

That being said, I said on this board I feared Weber, and would be happy getting out of Ogden with a "W". Mission accomplished.
