Check the game out on Fox Sports North or ESPN Gameplan. If you don't have either it should be available at any good sports bar!

This could be a good one!

I'm not 100% but I don't think the game has ever been in Fargo. The Bison are 0-6 against the Gophers.

I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm extremely disappointed by a 1 point loss to the Gophers. I don't know it's been posted here because I skipped to the last page, but the Bison were the better team. We left some points on the field today, but that's football.

THis loss should still have NDSU going higher in the polls IMO.

why am I biased I had ISU right up there, UNH lost last week, ILS whipped SIU #7 SIU, and almost everyone has up top 5...also 9 other 1st place votes besides me, so Im not really biased...like I said if NDSU won today, they were my new #1

THis loss should still have NDSU going higher in the polls IMO.

Middle of the season, one point loss, two FG missed by NDSU, TD called back by clipping. MN did very little successful, but enough to eek the win.

This is a tougher game than versus K-State or Navy (two other IAA much earlier 1 pt losses to IA). IMHO. Definitely shouldn't be a drop in the polls. And after App St taking 2 OT to beat GSU team than NDSU dominated and UNH falling to a team Bison dominated.......

The defense played unbelievable today, but the offense definitely made a few mistakes in the red zone. I think we were inside the 20 five times and came away with 9 points. That said, I've never been prouder to a Bison fan and "NDSU grad".

Watched the game on ESPN Gameplan, The announcing... one would think would be a little pro Gophers, Big Ten. It was not, they could not stop saying positive comments about the Bison. Comments about the Goofs were....why can't they get their game going? The announcers were not in a position to be homers, thats what made it so great.

bkrownd
October 21st, 2006, 08:54 PM
I can't believe it was that close. Gophers should have had the hogs to move the ball up and down the field at will on NDSU. I wonder if Glen Mason will survive this debacle. Oh wait, this is the historically football-hostile U of M administration I'm talking about...nevermind...

darell1976
October 21st, 2006, 10:29 PM
Good game too bad the Bison lost on a close game I knew they would not get blown out. One of the announcers on FSN-North said the difference between 1-A and 1-AA is not what it used to be thats why 1-AA teams are beating 1-A teams more frequently. So i think next year if and a big IF the Bison can get the Gophs to play in the Fargodome the score may be reversed. But good job NDSU today!!! xsmileyclapx

I walked out of he dome with a smile, knowing the Bison outplayed the Gophers. Bison turnovers and mistakes kept the Gophers in the game. Bison stopped the Gophers running game most of the day, and the Gophers could not stop the Bison offense until they were deep in Minnesota Territory. 62,000+ at the game, awesome.

Was anyone else suprised by the NDSU team speed? It seemed like the Gophers took bad angles on defense and the Bison were almost always able to tackle the Minn. runningbacks on the outside before they could turn upfield.

The turnovers and penalties really hurt our offense and special teams. I would have never guessed that we could hold Minnesota to 10 points. The gophers are down this year, but they have played one of the toughest schedules in the nation according to the Sagarin ratings.

I just returned to the great state of North Dakota after seeing a great game. The NDSU fans were great. The team played great. There was a huge standing ovation for the team as they left the field. I counted 12 sections of the dome were filled with at least 90 percent Bison fans.

I came away satisfied but disappointed because we should have won. We dominated the Gophers in every phase of the game except the score board. The Gopher radio announcers were hilarious as we drove away from the Metrodome. "The Bison were better than we expected". I'm telling everyone right now. We were just plain better than the Gophers on Saturday !

bisonbill
October 22nd, 2006, 01:10 AM
I think they announced attendance of around 63,000 fans. I think that was the best turnout for the Gophers in the Metrodome all season. Against a lowly no good less talent patsy like the NDSU Bison from a lower division that should have been a 40 point win for the Gophers. 40-0 I believe was the prediction of one Gopher media smarty.

I walked out of he dome with a smile, knowing the Bison outplayed the Gophers.

A lot of fans were still happy even with the 1 point loss with one exception that we saw a little future Bison from Iowa who was maybe 5 or 6 was totally devastated by the loss he was crying so hard. My wife gave him one of our game pennants to cheer him up. The crying lessened but for him that loss was too much to handle.

The Crowd was still rowdy singing fight songs on the way out of the Dome.

Sid Hartman now thinks that NDSU was the better team and included this in his column:

"This North Dakota State team could play with a lot of teams in the Big Ten," said George Perles, who coached the Spartans from 1983 to '94. "They might not win many [against Big Ten teams], but they would give them a game."
