The Easton HS Red Rovers beat a very good Northampton Konkrete Kids team tonight, 34-0. Their 7th shut out in 8 games. The number 2 team in the Commonwealth is Parkland, in the same Lehigh Valley League, BUT neither team will meet in the regular season this year. Likely in the District playoffs. Easton has now outscored their 8 opponents by 225-14!

Let's not forget, Liberty is #5 and don't the Rovers and 'Canes play at Liberty Stadium this Friday night?
30 years ago, a game this big between these two schools would have produced at least a dozen fist fights in the stands.

Yes the Rovers and the 'Canes face off this Friday night. I would expect a big crowd. Live TV here in the Valley may hold attendance down--as there have been some incidents in the past. Should be a great game with Liberty's heralded QB and TB against Easton's stingy D.

The game should be a classic...the Rovers certainly are rolling...P'burg is doing well too I think? Thanksgiving on ESPN2 should be awesome! (Besides it'd be nice to see a team from Easton win at Fisher Field once in awhile...)

Phillipsburg is good this year, as usual, including a one point win over Bergen Catholic at Giants Stadium to open the year.

Yes both Pburg and Easton are undefeated. What better way to have the 100th game between the schools if both are 11-0. However, Easton has a tough road ahead with Liberty and the District XI playoffs--that will likely include Parkland--also undefeated and ranked right up there with Easton n the polls.

What is Liberty's record? I thought they were ranked higher than #5?
Last time Liberty was good they played Easton and were dominated... I think this was 2004...

Liberty has only 1 loss, to Becahi! : flamemad I hate f'ing Beca!!!!!
Easton handed Liberty their only regular season loss last year. They faced off again a few weeks later in the playoffs with Liberty winning easily en route to the AAAA State Final.

WFMZ.com reports a final of 17-7 Libert!!!
:hurray: :hurray: :hurray:
Easton won't drop out of the Patriot-News Top 10 however. For playoff seedings, Easton ought to be in better shape since their loss came to a AAAA school, while the Hurricanes lost to a AAA team.

Still stinks if Easton is the higher seed than Liberty considering Liberty would have beat them head to head. I can't wait to see who my alma mater, Abington Heights, will play in districts. Would be quite interesting in my house if the Canes and Comets clashed.

Gotta hand it to Liberty...I managed to catch the highlights on WFMZ tonight...17 points is more than the Rovers allowed all season if I'm remember correctly...should be interesting playoffs this year...

Liberty deserved to win. A couple big plays Persa came up with; however, the extremely stupid personal foul penalties by the Rovers aided and abetted this one. Would have been much tighter at the end.
Easton plays Beca this comng Friday.
BTW--Easton Pburg game is now NINE O'CLOCK AM on THANKSGIVING due to ESPN's request...

Here are your district rankings:

Looks like Liberty and Easton are tied for 4th, but I assume Liberty gets the nod based on Head to head...

There's a very good chance Liberty and Abington Heights could square off in the first round. That would be awesome, my dad graduated from Liberty and i went to AH, not to be confused with just Abington from the Philly area. I don't think we have the horses to beat Liberty this year but i don't think the Canes are as good as the CB West teams of the late 90's we played. Abington's got some good speed but aren't real big, it would be interesting to say the least.
