UNI seems accurate. We're 10-15 in most polls. Some pretty questionable ones in there though.

The top seven do not bother me too much but after that is when things get interesting!

At least Sagarin has JMU ahead of UNH after they beat them. More logical in that respect than most polls I have seen this week. I'm sure YSU fans will be pleased with it, too (and Ill State fans not).

Sag alone is not the best indicator. :) We all know that he only rates D-I and ignores the rest.

I know but it sure does lead to some interesting discussion especially with a new number one team after UNH's fall.

Sagarin is dead on with Youngstown State... we will show why we are #1 here very soon!

The next 3 weeks will have a lot to say about that as you finally run up against the other contenders in the Gateway.

After the WIU game this weekend, the Redbirds will be licking their chops to payback the Penguins for last year's game in Youngstown (a game ISU gave away).
The Leathernecks first, then a shot to knock YSU out of a tie for the Gateway penthouse. Should be an intense game, and it will be Family Day at ISU, so they'll be another HUGE crowd.

I'm confused with ISU at 14 and SIU at 9...but its w/e and it really doesnt mean much

Don't be surprised if WIU knocks the birds off this weekend.

I was surprised by that as well. I was just happy to see some ranking having JMU higher than UNH.

We know what you think of Sagarin, Ralph. But what's the effect of not rating sub-D-I opponents? Are the teams that play them under- or overrated? By how much, since they're probably 5% or less of the total games played?
What's better about Sagarin is that it's easy to compare how MUCH better (according to his system) one is than another, using his 'predictor' method. An 'index' like the GPI just gives a meaningless number that doesn't tell you how much better a higher-ranked team should be.

I'm surprised as how well Maine is doing... they will be the shocker in the A-10 this year Richmond was last year.....

The question is can NDSU be ranked #1 at all this season since we aren't playoff eligible? I guess Sagarin wouldn't care but the other polls probably would. :eyebrow:

Our boys have had this one vs WIU circled on the calendar since our embarassing defeat last year. This is one game they have been focused on. Normally, I would have thought it to be a trap one, but our guys want this one BAD.
