Oldest Rivalry West of the Mississippi

This year marks the 105th meeting between Montana and Montana State. I've heard it's the oldest rivalry west of the Mississippi at ANY level.

As much as I love Griz-Cat, it can't be the oldest.

The Civil War between Oregon and Oregon State is the seventh longest running rivalry in the nation and the oldest on the west coast. This year will be the 110th. It was first played in 1894.

As for the oldest west of the Mighty Miss I have no idea but I imagine the Civil War is in the running with the Brawl of the Wild close behind.

It is not the oldest rivalry, it is the longest rivalry in terms of consecutive years played. I could be wrong, but recall hearing that last year or in 04. In 1AA historians here?
