SDSU continues to perk along as the top WBB in the Summit League. Played a challenging OOC of Notre Dame, Stanford, TCU, FGCU, Middle TN, Penn St., Georgetown, UNI, Creighton, UW-Green Bay + others. Got smacked around vs Notre Dame, Stanford, FGCU, Middle Tn, BYU, but won vs #12 Penn St and UW-GB. Should roll through Summit League & be the #1 seed to the Summit Tourney for another year. SDSU has made the NCAA tourney every year eligible, and should be the odds-on favorite again to be the Summit entry to the women's dance.

Next game tomorrow vs NDSU. Used to be a big, tough game between these rivals, but NDSU has really suffered under DeHoff's tenure. For our Bison rivals, hope you get rid of the POS coach, and return to being a contender. Kind of sad that two such winning programs aren't both challenging each season.

Apologies for not posting the women's thread shortly after the men's thread was created. xoopsx This was due to oversight.

Surprisingly, Harvard and Princeton are neck-and-neck in the overall standings, 10-4 and 11-5 respectively, but all of the women's bracketologies that I see have Princeton as the Ivy representative, given their better SOS and past performances.

I've heard legends of Womens BB games that have people up to the rafters.. Now they get like 145 people. I've went to 2 in 5 years, both were uninteresting.

I was in Fargo for a UND-NDSU regional final about twenty years ago. It was packed and loud. Those were the two best teams in D2 for many years- whoever won the regional was going to win the national title.

Yes the NCC was the dominant D-II conference. SDSU picked up in the 2000's, and added a National D-II title, USD was runner-up in their final D-II season. SDSU's D-I run has been precedent setting. First (and second) transitional ever selected to the WNIT, and Summit League title holder ever since joined. SDSU has more major conference wins than ALL the remaining Summit League teams combined.

20 point win at Fargo for the Jacks.

I bet that Gene Roebuck is smiling..........:D

Brewster was Gene's assistant so I can guarantee he is smiling. He was 6-13 in the BSC and 11-17 overall this time last year, thats a 9 game turnaround for a second year coach. He should be coach of the year in the BSC no doubt about it.

Despite the loss, North Dakota clinched the right to host the conference tournament March 13-15.

Congrats to Brew- I used to work with him at Gene's camp. Worst to first is quite an accomplishment.

I was at the Gopher NIT doubleheader on Sunday. There was a lot of talk there that the matchup with SDSU would probably host the game. It will probably draw a lot bigger crowd out in Frost Arena than if they played in Williams Arena.

I think that the Jacks will win.

Jackrabbits still playing basketball. Looking for a crowd of 4-5K in Frost Arena (SDSU's home court). So far WNIT has brought 2 Big East teams, and now two B1G teams to Brookings. If Jacks wins, they will have gone 6-0 vs B-East and B1G this year. Also Frost is home to the 3rd longest home winning streak in D-I.

That was the final nail in the coffin for Pam Borton:

I don't think that the Goofers are smart enough to go after Aaron Johnston even though he is from Minnesota.

I have a buddy who graduated from UND. Every year he would pull for the Gophers to win just enough games so that Doug Woog could keep his job. I thought that he was one of the most overrated coaches of all time. And people would defend him by saying, "You can't find a better guy than the Wooger!" Of course, he got caught handing out cash too.

They should have dumped Borton five years ago. Her press breaker wouldn't work on a junior high team.
