If any of you missed it last night, 60 minutes ran a series on the Duke rape case, including interviews with the 2nd dancer and the 3 accused. Very enlightening to say the least. You can watch clips at the link below.

The election is in three weeks. Nifong probably will stay quite until after that.

Yeah, they interviewed a Duke Law professor(a black guy at that) and he said that there was no reason for these guys to even be indicted. He also noted that if this is gets a conviction, that it would be overturned b/c of prosecutorial misconduct on Nifong's part

Why they are still pursuing this case is just simply baffling - the amount of evidence coming out that is there already gives so much reasonable doubt that there's no way these guys get convicted short of them breaking down and admitting they did it. Who knows what really happened, but there doesn't appear to be a very good case here and it never should've gotten this far.

I've seen a lot of criminal cases where the Attorney General's Office (DA's office in other states) has refused to prosecute a case brought by the police due to the fact that the potential prosecution wasn't an automatic slam drunk conviction. Most of these prosecutors don't like to go to trial on a case that may be difficult prosecution. However Nifong has continued to pursue a case where the only evidence is a statement from an alleged victim... who has zero credibility and where the totally flawed photo ID will almost certainly be surpressed at trial and never get into evidence. This DA's actions are well beyond incompetence and if there is any justice in this world... Nifong should pay dearly... one way or another.
