We'll continue our series with the top 10 I-AA quarterbacks heading into the NFL draft...as you can tell, at this point, James Madison QB Justin Rascati is the only QB firmly in the draft while Matt Gutierrez is a 'tweener' who may fall in or may fall out. No 40 times for Washington or Shepherd at this point in time...

Just curious where you got this info. J. Washington is injured & redshirting this year & will be back at Montana next year. Not to mention he is probably the most un-impressive Griz QB in 15 years.

That list is close I think. Nelson is having a bad year though. I would put Sawyer Smith in there ahead of Washington.

I am guessing you got this list from football.com?

The top two junior I-AA QBs out there seem to be Santos and Josh Johnson. One draft source I read had Santos 5th-6th round and Johnson 6th-7th round.

The top I-AA guys it seems like are Jerome Felton, Rocky Hanni if healthy, Tony LeZotte, and Kerry Brown. I also saw where Kendall Langford is supposed to be a big time prospect.

*Not nitpicking* Thigpen runs a 4.6

I am guessing those are average times. The NFL teams take the average from 3 or more 40s. Most teams don't use the best time a player puts up. I would guess that is an average. Maybe he has ran a 4.69, 4.77, 4.84 or something?

Felton is an absolute beast. I could see him being a Mike Alstott type of back.

The site I use, "uses the best verifiable 40-yard time for each player. There is no single, official 40-yard time for any player, even those who run at the Indianapolis Combine. Those players who participate in the 40 yards at the Combine actually run twice and on each run they are timed by two hand-held stopwatches and one electronic timer (that is actually initiated by hand on the player's first movement). Combine data includes all six of those times for each player, but no single official time. Team scouts and coaches have various approaches for getting the 40 time they use from those six timings. Some use averages. Some throw out slowest and fastest and then average the rest. In deference to each player, the service attempts to use the best verifiable time that seems appropriate for each player. That is the 40 time we post."

You should never use a player's best 40 time. You should always take the average because it is more accurate. A player could have a bad day, you never know.

It's a weak QB crop this year in I-AA. Rascati could turn into an OK backup/no.3 type.

I look for Drafts to be a 3rd or 4th rounder in the upcoming draft. He could very easily make a good NFL QB with some work on his deep balls. He is dead on accurate and drills the ball on 25-30 yard throws but lofts it a little too much on long balls.

As of right now I dont think he will not get drafted. He is good but he just won't go ahead of Justin Rascati or Tyler Thigpen or even Jon Grant. I don't see any of them, except maybe Rascati, getting drafted.

His career numbers are great but most of them are against DII's. He's a great player and has had a better career numbers wise than Thigpen thanks to his system. However, if, and if it's a big if, he gets drafted, it'll be 6-7th round. Chances are he signs undrafted though.

Swogger will be going to the NFL.... I know for a fact of 3 NFL teams which have requested info of him... How? I will tell you later.... I'd be shocked if he is not in the pro's next year.

GO SWOGGER FROM YOUNGSTOWN!

just to bring up what has already been said. Jason Washington will not be going to the pros for a few reasons: one he is medically redshirted and not even playing this year. two next year when he comes back he is most likely being moved to play receiver. and finally as mentioned before he was not even close to NFL caliber let alone CFL

Ricky Santos is a 4th year Junior and could enter the draft if he chooses. I do not think that he will do so
