This is a very favorable match up for us though I have a lot of respect for New Hampshire's tradition and ability to fight through early season adversity in a traditionally strong conference ... they're well-coached, not afraid to pull out the stops, and I expect them to come in and battle for four quarters. But if we play Lions football and don't beat ourselves, I like our chances of advancing.

I honestly cant make a prediction. I want to compare the SLU offense to that of Villanova and John Robertson. UNH barely won that game, and is a much improved team right now. However this game is in Louisiana, and Bennett is faster and more athletic than Roberston. The UNH team that beat Maine a second time looked better than any UNH team Ive seen in a while. Yet its almost impossible to tell exactly how much better SLU is because there really isnt a common denominator.

My heart says UNH pulls it out, my head says no way.

P.S. I also think back to the UNH game at McNeese State in 2009. Before the game I kept hearing how fast and athletic McNeese was, and I didnt think UNH would be able to keep up. However, UNH won that game pretty handily.

Temps for game time will be around 60 ... rain should be out by the afternoon. Humidity will be high but at low temps, won't be much of a factor. Should be a great night for football weather-wise.

hmmm, well 4 to 5 years ago the CAA was a beast and far and beyond the rest of the fleet, Not so much today but still the best conference in FCS. And I would have to say this SELA team is much more talented than those Southland teams back in 09/10 so what does all this mean?

No idea other than I think this will be a good game and I wouldn't be surprised by anything, to bad ESPN didn't put on something besides ESPN3.

I think that UNH has to make Bennett a pocket passer. That wil mean rushers must keep their lanes. Bennett is certainly capable of passing accurately from pocket, but I would rather have theat than him scrambling and having a pass/run option. Too many bad things can happen. He reminds me of a faster Taylor Heineke and that did not work out so well for UNH. I would also take my chances with other players beating us in the run game. It appears that SELU/SELA (don't know which is correct) plays a lot of man to man defense, I can see a few wheel routes with the RB's being covered by LB's. Also if we pop a run up hte middle, there will be no secondary support. Whoever is the more physical team will also have a decided advantage.

SLU is the correct acronym.

As for making others beat you in the run game besides Bennett, we have plenty of options. I'll be curious to see how you play us, and what you give us. Defensively, we do play a lot of man coverage, but we'll also mix it up. Also curious to see what trick plays you guys have up your sleeve this week ... we're known to run a few ourselves, but haven't had to use many this year.
