Definitely a program that is having their fair share of problems this year. The DLine coach already resigned because of this latest round of issues and hopefully Downing and company can get to the bottom of it. Didn't see this post anywhere on AGS, so I apologize if a multiple-post...

GREELEY, Colo. -- Northern Colorado has reported itself to the NCAA for holding an unauthorized football practice in March, sports information director Kyle Schwartz said.

Defensive line coach Craig Robinson resigned last week amid revelations that the team held a practice before official spring drills started March 25, a secondary violation of NCAA rules, the school said.

First-year head coach Scott Downing has said he did not know about the practice.

Downing hinted on Tuesday that there could be suspensions for some assistant coaches if the NCAA approves the school's report on the violation, which includes self-imposed penalties, the Greeley Tribune reported. Schwartz did not return a message left after-hours Thursday seeking more details.

Separately, the school learned sophomore fullback/special teams player Michael Farris was ineligible when he played in the Bears' season opener against UC Davis.
