We all want to, but traveling from myrtle to the Mid or far west is ridiculously expensive. Total travel cost to this game including tickets, airfare, hotel and car would be North of $800 per person and the drive would be like 20+ hours both ways. I was making reasonable efforts for my wife and I to make it, but it's my weekend to work. On the bright side, that frees me up to go to LA or NH next weekend.

1) Coastal blitzes a ton! That'll be a big key I think is how well NDSU handles that blitz because Jensen has the ability to burn them if the Bison can pick up the blitz.
2) Ross holds onto the ball for a long time when he goes back to pass. He's going to get hit a lot if he does that on Saturday. He also put the ball on the ground twice but I'll give him a pass because it was so cold in Montana but he's gonna take a beating if he plays that way this week.
3) I was really impressed with Coastal's corners. They manned up Montana's WRs quite a bit and were blanket covering them most of the game. It will be key to see if Vraa, Smith, and company can get separation against them.

I've lived in both places. Both great areas of the country. Head to head match up I see it like this:

Weather: Summers in Fargo (Jun 1-Sept 1) are gorgeous. 30% humidity, 80-85 and the sun shines every day. Fall and spring are brief and beautiful. Winter is a bear, but it doesn't really slow them down. Summers on the Carolina Coast are brutal. 98 degrees with 98% humidity. Wake up, take a shower and sweat. But the beach is right over there, you can't get to it through the endless line of 18 year olds cruising ocean blvd, but it's just right there! Also, don't worry, it'll cool off at night. It should get way down to 92 overnight. Pack a sweater. Oh, and the afternoon popup showers that happen like clockwork. That'll cool us off. It's like God is just throwing water on the sauna rocks. Spring and fall are absolutely beautiful. Love the oyster roasts in the fall. Winters are nice. Edge: SC

Geography: From the mountains in Asheville to the Low Country in Charleston, SC is a beautiful state. The drive out of the mountains in Asheville in the fall towards Greenville Spartanburg is awesome with all the leaves changing. In spring there are beautiful pops of purple everywhere with the wisteria blooming on everything from the loblolly pines to power polls. The azaleas are incredible. But driving down the interstates I'd get claustrophobic. I felt like I was stuck in the world's longest hallway. Trees to the left, trees to the right and no end in sight.
ND is wide open from Williston to Fargo. People say, "there's nothing to see up there." I'd say, "What do you mean? You can see EVERYTHING." Stand on any hill (anything over 18") in ND and you can just about see the curve of the earth. The open space is awe inspiring to me. I love it. The ND badlands are ruggedly beautiful. South Carolina is MILF pretty. ND is ruggedly handsome.
EDGE: Tie

People: The hardest thing for me to get used to in SC was just how they seem to perceive time. They have plenty of it. I had very little. Nothing is done with a sense of urgency. Maybe the perception of southern speed comes from that. They do most everything so slowly that when they do decide to do something, they seem to be moving at a faster pace. Everything is done with a smile in SC. They are just the sweetest sounding people on earth. Even when they are pissed, they get angry with a smile. "Aren't you just the cutest thing," does not mean what you think it does. In ND, they are a get things done quickly and enjoy the rest of the day people. They are educated, hard working, and proud. They are people that prepare for things well in advance. They have things done just in case they need to be done. They are considerably more stoic than they are in SC, but they are the nicest people. They are above and beyond helpful. If you have a problem, a North Dakotan will solve it for you.

Overall: Tie. I love them both. Two great states full of great people. Get me the hell out of Indianapolis.
