Of the bottom 8 coaches in I-AA by winning percentage (with four or more seasons), five have been let go in the last two weeks. Morgan was 81st of 82 in that category.

it's pretty hard to win in division 1 when your whole football budget is about $230,000 while their total budget for the athletic department is 3.6 million. valley had a good coach they would have challenged prairie views record with anyone else. this was a bad move by them. what coach in their right mind would ant to coach a division 1 football team under those conditions?

Actually, it's closer to $1.1 million, but it's not clear if Valley is competing close to 63 scholarships.

After the way they treated former QB Willie Totten, they could have expected things to only get worse.

Are there any young guns in the CIAA or SIAC who would jump off into this job, and try to pull off a miracle in Itta Bena? Whoever ends up at MVSU will have a tough road ahead.........

If they did, they'd be idiots. But then again, the SWAC is a model for inconsistency. They've had five different champions in six years; mainly due to coaching changes. They could come in and possibly win in their first or second year.

What do you actually know about the SWAC? If the SWAC could stop retreading coaches and get some new blood in, it would be a pretty decent conference. The athletes are there. Just have to get them coached up.

They were an offensive explosion in the 1980s and a proud program. Those days are long gone. Like Grambling, another program in disrepair.

A lot actually. Nothing I said was untrue. Perhaps you thought I meant, 'he'd be an idiot for going to a SWAC school'? No, he'd be an idiot for going to MVSU.
