The Southland Conference will certainly have a new look when basketball season tips off in about a month. Some of the changes in store include two new schools, an all-time high 12 teams, seven new head coaches, regular-season divisional play and a neutral site postseason tournament.
For the first time in the Southland’s 44-year history, the league will split its teams into two divisions. The change is a result of the conference expanding to an all-time high 12 members July 1 as Central Arkansas and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi were welcomed to the league.
