I was surprised that Chattanooga did not make it. I really thought 3 SoCon teams would get in. Furman obviously won the auto-bid and I guess Samford beat Chatt head to head so they get in 2nd, but I was surprised Chatt did not make it.

SHSU and SC State take the cake for undeserving teams. Add jacksonville state to the list too.

Thanks for the support and pointing this stuff out guys...many Chattanooga fans and officials felt the same way...but I don't want to sound like we are whining. Mocs had chances to close it out and didn't.

But still, Chattanooga accomplished a lot this year and exorcised many demons.

They'll be back next year and hopefully will take that next step to the playoffs.

Dont be shocked if you see the Kats in round 3 making a push to go to to the dome! Deserving or not this team is getting healthier and is going to be very dangerous! I like our chances in both round 1 and 2. We will see what happens I guess.

For all the gruff Kat fans are getting, they are one of the only fanbases that realize the kind of brick wall they face in the semi's if they make it.

I did not expect Chattanooga to make it with Furman getting the auto-bid, much like I expected the MVFC to be two bids. But, damn you see some teams that made it, and you begin to re-think who earned bids. The reasonable fans of teams just left out realize you have to leave no doubts, but some fans of bubble teams who are in make it real hard to take.

I will always have a hard time seeing the Pioneer league have an auto bid and UTC getting left at home. That however, will always be the argument of playoff systems. When UGA made the NCAA tournament a few years ago with something like a .500 record, some other deserving team got left off.

At the end of the day, everyone controls their own destiny to begin the season.

I think Chatty should have gotten in as well. I guess when they failed to beat Alabama, that sealed their fate in the committee's eyes.

I am beyond disappointed that we didn't make the playoffs, but we had our chance. We controlled our own destiny and we couldn't get it done. We could argue about the call at GSU, but that call didn't keep us out, we controlled our own destiny even after that loss. I could complain about the injuries to key members of our team, but what team doesn't have injuries at that point in the season. The point is we controlled our own destiny last week and couldn't get it done so we left our fate in the hands of the selection committee.

That being said I am so proud of our team. We have had the best season in thirty years and have a bright future. We have a lot of young players that were forced into playing this season and they will only get better next season. We should be in the hunt for another SoCon Championship and a playoff spot next year.

Good luck to Samford and Furman in the playoffs. Represent the SoCon well. Good luck to GSU and ASU in the Sunbelt too. I will miss the trips to Boone.
