Southern Illinois made its final case for a playoff berth with a 31-9 win over Indiana State in the regular-season finale on a subfreezing, windy Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium. The Salukis (7-5, 5-3 MVFC) held the Sycamores (1-11, 0-8 MVFC) to 55 yards of total offense, which ties for the fourth lowest total allowed by SIU in school history.
