Numerous things wrong with this poll.

1. SUU being at 22 even though they beat #13 MSU this past weekend in Bozeman and SUU even has a FBS win.
2. NAU being at 12 while U of MT is at 6. NAU beat them head to head. NAU has lost games to AZ and got beat bad by MSU in Bozeman while MT lost at NAU and at home to EWU.

Go Bison!

So let me get this straight - in FCS you have playoffs at the end of the year. And all the top teams get into the playoffs. Which means that every team at the beginning of the year has a chance to win a national championship, regardless of what conference they're in? And if I read this right, all the teams have to play road games too?

Fascinating.

I have long been of the opinion that FCS polls are heavily based on reputation, not necessarily results.

Look at Wofford. There's not a single compelling reason to have Wofford ahead of Furman in these polls right now. I'm not advocating Furman needs to be there either. It takes a team virtually tanking their season to stop getting votes in these polls. It took Furman forever to fall out even after we were not a top 25 football team because, "they are supposed to be good, right?"

Very true. It also takes a team like Samford forever to get any recognition. By "a team like Samford" I refer to teams that have little or no history of being ranked.

Which makes me wonder why all the hoopla over a mediocre Chuck South when y'all get no love. Same thing happened to my Dogs last year. Go and beat a Ga So and App St and they want to crown you queen of the ball. I knew everyone was over hyping it last year. And this year who has Chuck South beat?, really? What may be a good or suspect CCU team, not sure anymore. I think they are probably good but inconsistent, just like Chuck South. They may win a game in the playoffs but they will not go the distance. I guess Samford is not sexy enough.
