Since playoff time is nearing and to the life of me can't remember when the last time NDSU lost a playoff game in Fargo (must be maybe the 80's or before that), when was the last time your team lost a playoff game at home?
North Dakota
vs NDSU 41-10 in 1995

Unless I'm counting incorrectly, it could be 1977 against Jacksonville State. The year Lehigh won the DII championship.

Good topic Darrell. I believe the last time NDSU lost a playoff game at home was in 1991 against the Mavericks of Mankato State 27-7 on the old Dacotah Field. http://www.gobison.com/sports/1991/11/23/499984324.aspx?id=4575Dewey

Yep. That looks better than mine. I was looking at a different record book and couldn't determine the difference between a playoff or NCC game.

1983...our one and only home playoff game to Western Carolina 28-21...we were pretty banged up but the Cats deserved it, they ended up losing in the finals I believe.
We chose to play BC instead of the playoffs in 1984, had a bad year in '85 and then the PL didn't allow its teams to go to the playoffs for many years and by then our program was a shell of itself.

Some teams have a pretty small sample size for this stat. EWU hasn't had a ton of home playoff games. But we lost one in 2010 to NDSU. Thankfully, we had hometown refs.xsmiley_wix
Our last TWO have been to the same team, SHSU. Last year, when we almost snatched defeat from SHSU, and 2004, when SHSU came back from 20 down in last 10 minutes. Stupid prevent defense. Why does that even exist!!!

I don't care what level, era or whatever else as that is a incredibly impressive run. GSU will be the overall kings of FCS in my mind for a long time to come...or until NDSU passes them:)

I can attest to the game in Boone. Your team was big and executed very well. You had a receiver, a tight end if I recall right, that gave our defense fits. App was faster though, and pulled through in the second half.

Thx App2! I so wanted to be there but I was in charge of my high school 25th reunion that weekend. I believe the gentleman you refer to is Joe Ort a sizable WR. The following year against UMass in playoff game at Amherst he got injured late in the 2nd quarter and we were only losing 21-14 at half but not having him in the 2nd half was a serious loss as we needed every bit of ammo against the Minutemen. I believe I heard the App coaches were so impressed with the effort they came into our locker room after the game - just a class act!

Another thing is that we're one of only 2 schools to win every possible playoff game at home. The championship game was hosted in Paulson from 89-91, and we got to play every playoff game including the title game in front of a home crowd. Highly doubtful that ever happens again.
