What a joke. Vickers is a dumbass. He should have just left well enough alone.

thoise arent opfficial numbers they have only determined the top 5 finishers so far cause of the crash

Johnson and Earnhadt may still finish top 10 depending when the caution came out

I'm not sure what you guys find appealing. I live in the South but I still don't get excited watching cars drive in a circle

Different strokes for different folks. It's like saying basketball is nothing more than putting a ball throw hoop. There's sooo much more going on then cars going around in circles. I don't care if you like racing or not watch 5 minutes of racing from Talladega or Daytona and tell me those guys aren't crazy.

On another note Mark Martin is now only 10 points out of first!!! He has some good tracks comming up and just maybe can get that elusive title in his final year. He just needs to keep chugging a long and avoid a finish outside the top 25.

Mark Martin missed the big one today which helps (and killed him last year)

I don't know why people who don't like NASCAR think they have to put their 2 cents in on every NASCAR thread. :dizzy:

You should see my fiance at the supermarket. Keep driving in a circle because there has to be one parking spot closer than this one.

A jerk?! Are you kidding me? That was a total accident. Earnhardt and Johnson both got slow going into the corner. What is Vickers supposed to do? Get out of the throttle on the last half-lap at a restrictor plate track? The only jerks I saw at the track were the classless Earnhardt fans who (once again) threw trash out onto the track at the conclusion of the race. I would like, just once, for a reporter to ask Earnhardt what he thinks about his fans throwing trash onto the track. Speaking of class... ...I thought Earnhardt had much more of "it" than Johnson in their post-race interviews. Those Hendrick boys are so quick to start pointing the finger. I'm glad that BV is moving on. He's a great kid with a good bit of talent. He will serve Toyota well.

The goal is to win, but it is also to race clean. If he had stayed where he was at, he could have gotten past the 8 with Johnson and then taken a shot at the 48. The 48 was going to make the pass, and then he would have been a two-car race. Instead, he took two cars out and won the race by wrecking.

No, if he would have stayed where he was at, he would have actually been behind the 8 car. He probably would have pushed the 8 car to the victory. He was attempting to help a friend when he tried to file in behind Johnson. I give Vickers credit for trying to help a so-called teammate when the whole Hendrick organization has disowned him. He's a bigger man than me. I wouldn't have helped the 48 at all. Who remembers the Spring race at Talladega? Vickers was strong all day. He was leading coming to the white flag. Jimmie Johnson was right behind him. Johnson then pulled out of Vickers draft and made a crazy move down to the yellow line, almost wrecking the field and leaving Vickers out to dry. Johnson ended up winning and Tony Stewart picked off a helpless Vickers for 2nd place.

Wow, fans are scaring NASCAR

http://www.sportsline.com/autoracing/story/9716966

CONCORD, N.C. -- Lowe's Motor Speedway is beefing up security for driver Brian Vickers after angry race fans called the track to complain that Vickers wrecked Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Jimmie Johnson on the last lap at Talladega.

The Nextel Cup Series is scheduled to race Saturday night at Lowe's, and track owner Bruton Smith felt the need to offer Vickers assistance because of the flood of phone calls the track received Monday.

Exactly why I hate Jr. His fans are stupid and are ruining NASCAR. But he did call out Jeff Gordon today which I thought was funny. Still can't stand Jr., what a chode. He hasn't done anything in his career yet just because his last name he is the most popular driver. At least his dad won championships.

Completely agree. And what is even funnier is that his daddy made his reputation/career doing exactly what Vickers did.....

Right on the mark with that comment. One lady at the track had the nerve to tell me that I wasn't a true NASCAR fan just because I was cheering for Vickers' Victory Lane celebration. I thought the comment was hilarious, but I didn't say anything. I just smiled and kept on clapping.

Exactly. Everyone of Jr.'s fans think he is owed something by the rest of NASCAR just because his dad died at Daytona. I didn't even like Dale Sr. because of the way he won. I respected him, but didn't like him. I wish someone would take out Jr. every week, that would be hilarious.

I'm not a Junior fan, but I like Junior - I think he has an incredible amount of pressure on him from both Nascar and his fans, and he handles it better than most people could. And it doesn't seem like Junior tries to act like his father, he is trying to develop his own style and legacy.

Junior fans though are a different story. The only good thing about Junior fans is they keep the Gordon fans in line. I'm not sure which I find more annoying, but it is funny to watch them go at each other!
