Finally, a beautiful New England day. Seems like ages since we had good weather for a game.:hurray:

15,822 showed up.

I've got a lot of images of the band day, but I'll do another post on the 50+ bands that played.

Geeze, it was great to actually get a sunny day for the game. People were parked everywhere on University Ave. :nod: All those rain games last year and both home games so far this year had been dreary days with showers...

I was surprised at the margin. I watched the Tribe play a very competative game against Maryland.

The big thing, I think was that they could not run. W&M only had 30 yards rushing.

UMass called off the dogs. The second string QB played the whole fourth quarter and lots of subs during the whole second half.

Potts looks like he has a great arm. The Tribe can still win some games this year.

Texas State busted out some alternate black jerseys last night. I though they looked good, but some of the Bobcat faithful hated them. What do ya'll think?

I don't care for them, but then again I'm not a fan of black uniforms unless it's a primary team color.

I think they look good. :thumbsup: I can't imagine playing in black in Texas heat but they look nice.

But that's just my opinion. I've NEVER been a fan of jerseys that aren't a primary team color. I think what makes it worse is the fact that the numbers and sleeve logos are white? WTF?

It's called the Riverbell Trophy. Nicholls State and Southeastern Louisiana played for it for several years in the late 70s & early 80s before the Lions dropped football. Nicholls State won the matchup the final year that SLU had a team and it had been sitting in our trophy case for over 20 years. Last year, we brought it to Hammond for the renewal of the rivalry and got to keep it :hurray: :thumbsup:

This year the journey back to the trophy case won't be NEARLY as long!! :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :hurray: :thumbsup:

Ahhhh, that brings back those wonderful memories of October in Hampshire County. :bow: Life could never get any better than that. :)

It's one of the great spectacles in College Football. If you are ever in New England on Band Day try to take it in. :) :) :) :)
