If not for gaudy stats from those 3 offensive stars I think the Maine LB would be the winner. He's been the best freshman defender I have seen all year. I think he, John Law, Javancy Jones, and Kourtney Berry are future All-Americans if they keep improving.

One player who I think belongs on the list but just hasn't put up the production so far is Villanova DE Rakim Cox. He may very well get drafted and to me is the 4th or 5th best DE in FCS behind Daly, Riddick, Fede, and Tull.

He won't win...but Zack Kerr is the best DL we have had in two decades. I think he's even better than Shaun Johnson, who should have won the '03 Buchanan. He is such a destructive force and will be a lot of fun to watch on Sundays.

He won't win...but Zack Kerr is the best DL we have had in two decades. I think he's even better than Shaun Johnson, who should have won the '03 Buchanan. He is such a destructive force and will be a lot of fun to watch on Sundays.

Kerr is a stud for sure.

Very curious as to why Tribe safety, Jerome Couplin III, isn't on that list. Also weird they didn't include JMU's back-up punter since they seem to have the rest of the Dukes roster on there.

Unfortunately, Grant Olson can probably be removed from the Buchanan list as he was confirmed to have suffered a season/career ending ACL tear on Saturday.

I almost put the W&M safety on there. If he has a big game this week I will. I only have 4 JMU players. They have a lot of individual talent that is young mostly. None of the ones mentioned are seniors except Stanton.

Yeah it looks like he is done. Sad thing is that I think Marcus Williams should be removed from the official list as well.

SCFBF, is there any chance Adams wins the Payton this year, or barring a pick filled game, is Garoppolo a lock because he has more passing yards and is a senior? I might be biased, but I think if Adams has two more games like he's had all season, he should win it. There's very little difference in passing TDs, INTs, and total yards between the two. Adam's passing efficiency though is through the roof, and has the potential to set a new Big Sky/FCS season record I think. Further, Jimmy is averaging 8.3 yards per play, Adams is at 9.4.

I think Adams stands a great shot. The Payton race isn't over. I think my top 3 are clear cut the top 3 but the order is definitely in the air for sure.

It's just two from the conference. Mathews has almost nothing around him. He's a legit NFL guy who will either get drafted or sign as a free agent. He's got the tools. Reid is the best defensive player I have seen. he's going to be a high draft pick because he's a dominant player. Hard to put up 2 sacks a game when you are getting double and triple teamed. He still pushes the line and makes some plays. People who know football know that Reid is a big time player. Anyone who doesn't at least vote him top 5 clearly hasn't seen him play.

Just like I saw your guys and I must say Tull and Lott are the only legit NFL prospects on defense. The LB, S, and CB are being asked about but they aren't that good. Your FS has numbers but I have a better FS NFL body than he does. He's short and slow. The LB is the same. Short and slow from FCS is a bad combo. The S has zero length and really doesn't consistently make plays. Would not shock me if Lott gets a combine invite but I would describe him as 50/50 for one. Tull should definitely get one next year.

Look, there you again with your unprofessionalism. Pathetic. Davis Tull is the best football player in FCS. You wanna see someone get off double and triple teams and make plays? Why don't you pull up your endless library of game film and watch Davis Tull whip double and triple teams from your beloved Mountaineers that you try so desperately to distance yourself from. Funny how DJ Key(5'11" 205) and Wes Dothard (6'0" 235) are too small but you loved your 5'9 245 pound Jeremy Kimbrough last year lol. BTW, the fact that you don't have Dothard on this watchlist is a joke. I can't wait to hear you explain how Tull deserves to be behind the no-number Ivy leaguers when he shreds Samford for multiple sacks this week and then gets the better of Bamas right tackle.

exactly. spot on.

i don't know how good Kwe'shon is, but was very surprised that he has 3 picks this year. our secondary is so bad it's hard to notice. glad that you've noticed Khalid Abdullah. the kid is really, really talented. he's definitely young and can put on some bulk as he goes along, but he's going to be a very good player in a few years.

JMU doesn't lose very much after this year. replacing Robertson with Steele at MLB won't be a problem, should be more experienced overall next year.

Typical Chattown logic:

Poster X doesn't tell me what I want to hear so they are a joke and unprofessional, unlike me

Anways... Ellis Henderson may create himself a spot on the list over the next 2 weeks if he keeps up his recent torrid pace. If it wasn't for Cooper Kupp I'd say he's the most dominating receiver I've seen in awhile

Yeah, but VA's rushing yards pretty much equal out to the difference in passing yards Jimmy has over VA.

Tull is great but nowhere near the best player in FCS. He's a top level DE and first-team All-American. There is no doubt about that. Dothard and Key are free agent types but I don't see them as more than camp guys. Jeremy Kimbrough was kept by Washington on IR when they could have done an injury settlement and just cut him. He may be 5'10, 245 but he ran a 4.5 40 and was a very good player. I don't think Kimbrough lasts long in the NFL but certainly worthy of keeping around a couple years.

If Tull lights up Alabama for legit sacks, not mop up duty against backups, then I will say he's more than a 6th round projection. He's a developmental guy because he needs to get bigger and stronger. He's fast and athletic but while he dominates for a quarter he will go silent for a quarter as well.

Have you seen Caraun Reid? I'm guessing you haven't. He's getting tripled all the time with RBs chipping him. He's the best DL I have seen in FCS this year for the NFL. He likely goes 3rd-4th round range while Daly goes 5th-7th. Tull has another year so he may be a 3rd-4th round guy next year. Just saying if Tull comes out right now he's more like a late 5th or early 6th round pick than a top 100 pick like Reid might be.

Reid is the only player from the Ivy Leagues I love. I think Mathews is more of a 6th-7th round pick, at best right now.

By the way, funny you mention Key and Dothard because neither have a shot at getting drafted and your best prospect, Lott, has a shot in the late rounds. I have him as a PFA now but he may move into the 6th-7th round range this year.

You should tell the 2 GMs who sat beside me and swapped notes last night how much of a joke and how pathetic I am. You really need to talk to NFL decision makers and expose me. I'm just glad you won't and don't get me fired. #shakinginmyboots :)

He doesn't have freakish numbers by any stretch but really good in run support. He's going to get in a camp. He's not putting up guady PD numbers but none of the safeties this year are outside of 1-2.

You think he's too high? He's dominating the Pioneer League and deserves mention. He won't win it and shouldn't but he should be among top 10 vote getters for sure.

I think the Buchanan comes down to Daly or Robertson while Hodges and Tull likely in the next two tier along with Davis Tull. I think the group of Hodges, Tull, Riddick, Cowser, and Wagenmann next year is going to be one outstanding group of FCS NFL prospects. People aren't seeing Riddick or Cowser but they are players. Cowser might be the best DE in his class and nobody is talking about him yet. They will be when Riddick, Tull, and Hodges are gone. He just needs to keep developing.

He's tied for #6 in the entire FCS in solo tackles and has 8.8 tackles per game - that's more than any DB in the FCS. That's also nearly 20 more than any Tribe player which happens to be the #1 defense in the country. Ahead of and tied with him are 7 players who are LBs and play in less competitive conferences. Like the other 7, the kid from Coastal is a LB....obviously, they play much closer to the LOS and have more opportunities to hit the ball-carrier. I'm biased so take that for what it's worth.

1. These Awards have absolutely NOTHING to do with NFL potential you idiot. Nothing. Should Davis Tull win the award? Not unless he has a huge finish. Are the ivy leaguers even in he discussion? Of course not. Is Wes Dothard legitimatly in the running? Not really, is he in the top 20-25? Sure, yet you have ignored a previous finalist and multiple All american who is coming on strong. Apparently you are simply compiling a list if NFL prospects. Major fail.

2. You say things that show your ignorance, Jeremy Kimbrough ran a 4.5 40? When and where? The fastest LB at the combine ran a 4.47 the next fastest ran a 4.55 and they were the only ones under 4.6. How was Kimbrough not drafted?

3. You also seem desperate for recognition and approval from anonymous message board posters for such an important person. "Sat down and swapped notes with GMs." I have to call BS. First of all, what would 2 GMs be doing sitting down together with you? Was this in New York with the Jets and Giants? Was it at the site of one this week's games? Which game and which GMs? Did they fly together to you to "swap notes" with a low level scout? Is common procedure for GMs to sit together and discuss players or did they wait in your lobby while you and the other "swapped notes." What notes did they give you BTW? What notes did they give a guy who guy who scouts low level college football where 5 percent of their players come from? I'm sure your long record of proven success "cough" "cough" and your proven record should warrant a promotion to a higher level.
