What is it with our team always crumbling in the second half? It's been like this every week so far.

Other than that, I guess I can't complain about our team too much. Stupid late game defensive touchdown made the game look not as close as it actually was.

Good game, all.

Here is my message to NDSU. Congratulations on your win but don't misunderstand, this GSU team is not like the teams in the past. If you would have beat us in 2000 or 2001 or even 2004, you would have made a huge accomplishment. This year we are not a good team. We are not a GSU team. We loss to UTC, what does that tell you? However, congratulations. We are glad we could make your season and make you feel that your program has "arrived". Have a good day.

Two plays proves nothing. There's no doubt about it...this is not the Georgia Southern team that we had last year. In fact, it may be the worst we've had since 1996.

However, I think you have to be impressed with NDSU. The D-line is amazing and you can't blame the most unproductive day of Rush offense we may have ever had (including all of our IA games) on coaching. Our guys ran as hard as they could and the O-line did a good job of blocking. The passing game also completed plenty of passes to take some pressure off of them. The running game just got overpowered the entire time. Period.

As for us, our season is over. Time to get up, wipe off the blood, and finish the sprint to the finish line.

Good game, and great end to a tough road trip for the Bison. I will agree with the GSU fans that this likely isnt the best team they have fielded in recent years with all the changes they have gone through. But I think they are still a quality team and winning in Statesboro is always tough.

I can't wait for GSU to make the trip up to Fargo. That is what I love about IAA, it seems like nearly every week you have quality competition compared to back when NDSU played DII in the NCC and you had two or three match ups a year where you felt there was a threat.

STATESBORO, Ga. (AP) -- Unbeaten North Dakota State won its fifth straight game behind the play of quarterback Steve Walker and a stifling defense Saturday as it defeated Georgia Southern 34-14.

Walker threw for 171 yards and two touchdowns as the No. 11 Bison handed the Eagles their worst home loss since 1994. Marshall beat Georgia Southern 34-13 that year.

Georgia Southern had only 65 yards rushing, four in the second half, against a North Dakota State unit that was giving up only 29 yards per game. It was the first time the Eagles had been held under 100 yards rushing since 1995 when they had 70 against Montana in a Division I-AA playoff loss, a span of 137 games.

The 65 yards are believed to be a school record low for the Eagles who have led I-AA schools in rushing the last five years and entered this game sixth in the nation at 241 yards per game. Lamar Lewis led Southern with 35 yards on 12 carries.

I saw the score on the ESPN ticker and I was shocked. Not shocked by NDSU winning, but by 20 points @ GSU.

The bison seem like they are for real, and im sure that alot of i-aa teams are happy they wont be able to be in the playoffs this year. Cuz they would probably be a threat if they were one of the final 16 teams playing.

The better team won today. North Dakota St. is simply a better team this year than Ga. Southern. As an Eagle fan it pains me to say that but the Bison offense is better than ours and the Bison defense is better than ours. At half with it 14-14 I thought we had a good chance playing at home, but the 2nd half was nothing short of domination by the Bison.

I hope the Bison run the table. I know you guys can't go to the playoffs but I congratulate your team on a good win today. I wish we could have played you guys with one of our better team of years ago, but that can't happen.

I guess your team is the direction we are trying to head-- big offensive and defensive linemen, small scatback type of running backs and a play-action, rollout type of passing attack.

Any GSU fan who thought we could undergo as drastic of a change on offense as we have embarked upon this year and still be a playoff team was only fooling themselves. We Eagle fans are in for a long year this year. Hopefully next year we will start turning the corner with our new offense.

But none of that takes anything away from North Dakota St. The Bison should feel good tonight about their win. Good luck the rest of the season.

Hey, you guys had everything you said you had. Dont let the 20 fool anybody, the game was played a lot closer than that. NDSU just started building on the big play. first the third down conversions in the second qtr, 7 of 7!, Then the second half TD pass and INT for a score. The middle drive was a thing of beauty, and gave The BISON an earned 7 point win. The other 13 points were sweet, but I dont think they take anything away from the type of game GSU played, hard faught, fast and with integrity. Thanks for the game. See you in Fargo, at the Fabulous Fargo Dome in 2009.
