Both halves of the NEC’s Steel City contingent posted home victories in Week 10 behind a pair of strong defensive showings. Robert Morris cornerback Antwan Eddie and Duquesne linebacker Christian ****z share the NEC Defensive Player of the Week award for their efforts in key conference wins. Eddie made two interceptions as RMU bottled up Bryant. ****z made 3.0 tackles for loss and had a hand in two takeaways as Duquesne held Saint Francis to its lowest rushing total of the season. Central Connecticut quarterback Nick SanGiacomo captured the NEC Offensive Player of the Week honor after throwing for three touchdowns in the second-place Blue Devils’ win over Wagner. CCSU defensive back Chris Linares blocked a field goal in the victory and took the NEC Special Teams Player of the Week award as a result. Sacred Heart moved to 8-2 overall with a win over FCS independent Monmouth, and quarterback RJ Noel picked up his fifth NEC Rookie of the Week award for his contribution to the effort.
