#14 University of Montana (7-2) @ [B]#39 (6th) University of South Dakota (4-5 3-3) should be a close game.

(T-3rd) Missouri State University (4-6 4-2) @ #22 (5th) Southern Illinois University (5-4 3-2) Missouri State is rolling, SIU doesn't have its QB.

(T-9th) Indiana State University (1-8 0-5) @ #27 (7th) South Dakota State University (5-4 2-3) SDSU is reemerging and ISU-B is horrible.

#34 (T-3rd) Illinois State University (5-4 4-2) @ #1 (T-1st) North Dakota State University (8-0 5-0) NDSU should handle ISU-r pretty easily.

#8 (T-1st) Youngstown State University (8-1 5-0) @ #40 (T-9th) University of Northern Iowa (4-5 0-5) UNI went from great to below average pretty quickly, but they are now barely hobbling along.

#14 University of Montana (7-2) @ #39 (6th) [B]University of South Dakota (4-5 3-3) Will see if USD is a contender or a pretender. Should be a good game.

(T-3rd) Missouri State University (4-6 4-2) @ #22 (5th) Southern Illinois University (5-4 3-2)What 26 said about no QB for SIU.

(T-9th) Indiana State University (1-8 0-5) @ #27 (7th) South Dakota State University (5-4 2-3)Rabbits slim playoff hopes make them a desperate team and they should easily handle ISU-B

#34 (T-3rd) Illinois State University (5-4 4-2) @ #1 (T-1st) North Dakota State University (8-0 5-0)

#8 (T-1st) Youngstown State University (8-1 5-0) @ #40 (T-9th) University of Northern Iowa (4-5 0-5) Insult to injury for UNI as they continue the downward spiral that this season has turned into.

Indiana State University (1-8 0-5) @ #27 South Dakota State University (5-4 2-3) Zenner for 250+ yds and 3 TDs as the Jacks lays the wood on the Trees.

#34 Illinois State University (5-4 4-2) @ #1 North Dakota State University (8-0 5-0) Nothing stopping the Big Green Machine.

Looking at the results from the MSU bears this season they had 4 games that they lost by 6 points or less and only got beat by Iowa by 14 and NDSU by 15. 4 losses by a total of 16 points, OUCH. Talk about the season of what if's.

#14 University of Montana (7-2) @ #39 (6th) University of South Dakota (4-5 3-3) - Griz 24-21 over the Yotes. I think this one will be close. Having just been in that dome, for whatever the reason, it is just one odd place to play and the noise echoes like crazy in there.

(T-3rd) Missouri State University (4-6 4-2) @ #22 (5th) Southern Illinois University (5-4 3-2) - I want 3 teams in the playoffs for the MVFC and an SIU win would be good for YSU's resume, but MSU is clicking when it matters and their offense seems to be improving. MSU 28-24

(T-9th) Indiana State University (1-8 0-5) @ #27 (7th) South Dakota State University (5-4 2-3) - SDSU 35-14

#34 (T-3rd) Illinois State University (5-4 4-2) @ #1 (T-1st) North Dakota State University (8-0 5-0) - NDSU is the better team. ILSU's defense is not nearly as good as they showed against a banged up UNI team. ILSU must win out to make the playoffs, but I do not see them doing that. Bison roll 35-17.

#8 (T-1st) Youngstown State University (8-1 5-0) @ #40 (T-9th) University of Northern Iowa (4-5 0-5) - Hearing Johnson will miss the game and Kollmorgen is up in the air at this point, which in my humble opinion means [B]he is going to play. I still think YSU is getting UNI at the right time. Their offense really struggled last week against a defense I saw give up 59 points in person at Stambaugh Stadium. YSU wins back-to-back in domes, back-to-back over UNI, 12 straight FCS games, and heads home to Stambaugh for a top 10 showdown vs. the Bison for the Valley Championship. YSU 28-17.

xlolx This has been discussed ad nauseum over at Bisonville and the answer is no. The justification is that students pay student fees for those tickets so they bought them and it's their right to not use them. I've always been of the opinion that if the students don't use all their tickets the should be sold as GA and minus the administrative costs of printing and selling those tickets the money made should go back to the student government. That would make too much sense for them to ever do it though.

They should be sold as SRO on Thursday imo, then at like 10:00 in the first quarter, any open seat in the student section would be fair game for SRO.

Funneling the money back into Student government is also a good idea.

From the North Dakota State Bison Facebook page:

Standing room tickets will be available on Friday morning. Because of the three day weekend and deer hunting opener, it's possible a larger than usual amount of standing room tickets will be released.

3-1 for me last week. 48-16 on the year.

Montana @ South Dakota - I think, once again, the Yotes put up a hell of a fight but fall a bit short to a superior team in the end.
Missouri St @ Southern Illinois - Kinda picking with my heart hoping the conference can keep as many teams in playoff contention as possible but I think SIU's QB can make just enough plays to win at home.
Indiana St @ South Dakota St - The Jacks are coming off a bye facing the worst team in the conference. I think Sumner, not Zenner, leads them to a big victory in this one.
Illinois St @ North Dakota St - The Bison are coming off a bye and the Redbirds offense is led by a freshman QB and has averaged only 240 yards of total offense in their last two games. I think the Bison roll in this one.
Youngstown St @ Northern Iowa - I'm finally done picking UNI so they'll probably pull the upset here but with as banged up as they are I can't see any justification for picking them.

YSU last beat them at the pUNIDome in 1999, 2 years before the attacks on 9/11, just to put that into perspective. YSU needs to come out focused.

This has turned into a trap game. All of UNI's injuries and recent losses vs. a YSU team that could play for the Valley title at Stambaugh next week. Stay focused and hold onto the ball and YSU wins.

Well considering the purple cats are what 9-2? in the last 11-games against the Guins...most smart money goes there; although I am still picking YSU. Also I like the way USD matches up with UM; however, the Coyotes take a bit too long to bring pressure. I need to go with former SMS over SIU.

Agree, but that is old news this season. UNI is a shell of themselves right now with the number of injuries they have. I chalk it up to someone putting a line on a game and only saw the Iowa State and NDSU games.

Would be EXCELLENT to see The Yotes take out Montana this weekend. Getting sick of seeing how the #1 rated MVFC only deserves 3 teams in the playoffs, while a conference like the Big Sky (rated a few pegs below) somehow is pushing for 5 teams in the playoffs.

It's going to be real interesting come selection time on at-large playoff teams. Is this the year that strength of schedule is factored in? If so, then then it'll be interesting to see how teams who have a low SOS (even though they've been biasedly ranked in the polls) will fare when it comes down to really be scrutinized.

One of the reason's why The MVFC has been ranked #1 throughout the season is because the Valley teams played some very tough non-con foes. Go check out the SOS info for yourself. Yes, this season The MVFC seems heavy at the top with NDSU and YSU, but there are a least six other teams that are in the next rung dogfight (typical for the Valley) that are pretty darn good, but you can't tell recordwise because they've completely beat each other up each week.

IMHO, a 7-5 team coming out of The MVFC is going to be more than capable of winning against most of the teams that will be in the playoffs. Sorry for the rant, now back to you're regularly scheduled program. xcoolx

Just going from only watching 1 game for USD ...I feel that if Montana tries to play them "straight-up for 60-minutes" ...the Griz go down. UM will have to play some typical Big Sky/Big Play football. That is why I commented on the Coyotes slowness to get penetration. UM will be able to set up some of those big pass plays. If USD improves their penetration I do not think UM has a chance. I just do not know if USD can score enough points. I do not thnk this one is close either way ...just two completely different football teams in terms of style.

Montana: USD is tough at home but I think the Griz are a better team.
SIU: SIU is in the best position to get the 3rd bid from the Valley; I don't think they will choke this one.
SDSU: Sycs are really bad this year.
NDSU: Bison defense will eat this RFR QB for lunch on Saturday.
YSU: Really feel like picking UNI but they have lost 5 straight and this might be 6, although a UNI win will not surprise me.

In last year's game the Bison had a slow start and steamrolled the Redbirds in the 2nd half. Their QB is a RFR and is 5-11.

This game will probably be like the SIU game.....38-10.

USD is really banged up on offense. Their top two RBs are in rough shape and probably will not play. This comes from a staunch USD supporter with close ties to the program. He is also my friend. Sometimes I cannot believe it either.

From what I hear USD will be pulling the redshirt of freshman running back Khorey Kilgore out of Kansas City this week. He is highly regarded by the coaching staff. So if Joe Glenn thinks the kid is a player I'll take his word for it.

I think this game comes down to defense. Specifically, I think Tyler Starr and Drew Iddings have a field day in the Montana backfield.

I've never been impressed with Big Sky teams that come into the Dome. They never seem to be very physical teams. I think Montana gets beat at South Dakota on Saturday.

I know the other guys are banged up, but I'm surprised. However, if the shoe was on my team's foot, I'd probably want the same. I'd rather put the best people on the field now and try to win rather then thinking about 2017.

Do you think the loss last week will have a big impact on the team? No more shot at playoffs, etc.?

I do think that the loss last week will have an impact on the team. That was a very tough loss to swallow, leading with 15 seconds left over a very good YSU team, while also losing any realistic shot at the playoffs. I hope that Glenn can rally the troops and motivate them back up to their potential, because any win the rest of the way will be very important imo.

Glenn said that if Roberts and Bouma are still banged up that Kilgore will have his shirt burnt, and it's sounding more and more likely that that's happening. I agree that you do what you can to win Saturday, and worry about 2017 in 2017. Kid sounds like a stud, and I'd gladly trade his redshirt for a win against either Montana or the DSUs.

I had a feeling USD might beat YSU last week and they almost did.

USD has a good shot against Montana.

Looking at their starters, they have a lot of young guys getting valuable playing time this year. Next 2 years might be pretty good ones for the Coyotes.

Underwood is a pretty good DE, but I think the Bison O-Line will open some holes on this defense.

Yes, you may be right but Valley conference champions consistently win on the road and the Coyotes need to do that to win the Valley title.

I'm looking forward to watching the Coyotes in a couple of weeks. Get a look at Earl.

Exactly.

The OVC is a joke. EIU, with the same team, got bitch-slapped last year by a tough defensive SDSU team.

I hope the Bison get to play an EIU because they would roll them. D-Line would pin their ears back and rush Garropalo and eat him alive.

Same with EWU...another team that does not play defense.

This could very well be the case but if the Jacks can win at USD and Ytown they are in with the Bison and Guins. Missouri State has got to be kicking themselves for losing 3 non conference games early by 6, 3, and 3. They could be the 3rd best team in the Valley at this point with a 5-2 conference record.

You could see the difference in the athletes and how depleated UNI was. Makes me wonder YSU was so he'll bent on running against a stacked box with receivers wide open on many plays. There were two series where YSU ran the ball up the middle 3 plays in a row using the same dive play and punted. Wtf?

UNI is going to be hell on wheels next year.

For this year anyway, Littlejohn will move from will LB to mike and Esley Thornton will backfill Carlton's will spot....expect to see a lot of nickel formations too bringing another safety on the field (Shephard). DeLuca was the likely "heir" of Olson's MLB spot next season. Pierre Gee Tucker is another one to watch next season.

Well said. Its an overused cliche but for as good of a player as Grant was he was an even better person. You'd be hard pressed to find another college football player mire active in the community than Grant. Makes me sick to my stomach that his Bison playing career may end like this but we're not losing the person. I'm sure he'll be a coach the rest of the season and hopefully a GA after that.
