As if the 48-10 loss to Bucknell on Saturday in Lewisburg wasn’t bad enough, Lehigh also lost senior quarterback Brandon Bialkowski for the season.
On Tuesday, Mountain Hawks coach Andy Coen confirmed what was first speculated immediately after the game and that’s that Bialkowski has a broken collarbone that will end his season, and career, at Lehigh.
Although Coen wouldn’t announce the team’s plans, it is expected that junior Matt McHale will become the starter when the Mountain Hawks play Holy Cross on Nov. 9 at Goodman Stadium. Nick Shafnisky, the freshman from Whitehall, will likely move up to No. 2 on the depth chart.
